Step 4:
Choose 1 – 2 paintings and try to describe them to the best of your ability. Paint a replica of the image with your own words. Can you make your reader “see” what you are seeing.
Assignment:
- Post your description of 1-2 pieces on the blog in this comment stream.
- Make the title a hyperlink to the image on which you are writing.
- You will be graded on your ability to hyperlink the image and your ability to write 1,000 words. Late posts will lose a letter grade a day.
- Due 8:00 a.m. Tuesday Feb 10th.
This is an important step in the process of writing this research paper for a few reasons:
- First, you will need this descriptive writing in your essay to aid your analysis.
- Second, you will learn things about the piece of art by forcing yourself to stare at it with the attention needed to describe it.
- Last, what you see may be different from what others do, not just the abstract work, but what are your eyes drawn to first? You will never be able to get this moment back--what your eyes noticed when you were first drawn to the painting / or piece of art.
You will need this writing when you start to compile your formal research paper.
“Helpful Hints” to enhance your descriptive powers:
- Spend as much time as possible “free writing” about the image prior to doing any research. You can always edit this down if you feel that the writing is stale or redundant. Free writing is best done with fresh eyes as a first response, and can be edited after you know the image well. This can be tedious if you are in the middle of trying to arrange your argument and realize your paper is just not long enough.
- When describing colors, expand your vocabulary. There is no such thing as pure yellow. Maybe you mean lemon yellow or canary yellow or cadmium yellow or saffron. Check out these colors for ideas, but stick to colors that your audience will be able to visualize. For example, I can’t picture alice blue, but I can picture aqua and royal blue.
- If the image is particularly abstract, focus on the emotions that the artist is trying to express. Do the lines create a sense of movement? Does the painting seem to speed up time, or slow it down? Ask your self creative questions and answer them.

The paintings I chose to write about are very important to the kind of paintings that Raymond Pettibon is famous for. Raymond Pettibon’s art has a lot to do with the punk rock era of the 1960’s. According to the two paintings I have selected, the 1960’s were filled with troublemakers and young people who had a passion for revolting against society.
The first painting I chose to write about shows a crime scene. What caught my attention were the police officers and the suspect in custody. The scene shows a police officer in the background checking out something different in the scene, while his partner, the police officer who stands out more is talking to a suspect. The suspect is a man who looks like he is in his 40’s. He is wearing a shirt and he is presenting his hands to the arresting officer. As the officer appears to be arresting the suspect, he is also looking towards his partner, the other police officer who is checking out something else that is not shown in the painting. I am going to infer that there is more than one kind of crime going on at the same time. That is why the police officer and his partner appear to be looking off to the side of the image. They are trying to arrest a suspect and at the same time they are looking at another thing that is currently happening that is not shown on the image. I think that the author is trying to send the person viewing the art a message.. He is trying to teach the youth of America not to cause trouble or they will be caught. I think that the author is also trying to tell a story about the youth of America and he is using his artwork to do so.
The second painting I chose in my opinion was very strange. The picture shows to men in black and white. One of them is smoking. The man on the left has his arm around the man on the right. Both men are wearing dark sunglasses. The words next to the guy on the right says, “I stole my sisters boyfriend, it was all whirlwind, heat, and flash. Within a week, we killed my parents and hit the road.” This piece of art is very strange because it is kind of talking about what sounds like a serial killer. The person took his sisters boyfriend and then plotted to kill his parents. Why would somebody want to do something like that? I think that the author is trying to illustrate something he may have saw on the news. I am guessing it probable had something to do with a killer and a very violent crime that he may have committed. I am still trying to figure out, are the men in the picture gay because of the statement, “I took my sisters boyfriend.” I am guessing that the man fell in love with his boyfriend’s sister. That is what I think the author is trying to do using this piece of artwork.
The third picture I chose is kind of funny. The picture shows a man, smoking a cigar. There are two quotation marks. One of them says, “I dig looking like this, got a gripe.” The second quote says, “Are you kidding? You make that pug ugly punk John Dillinger look like Clark Gable”. The second quote is answering the question in the first quote. I also think that the second quotation is answering the first quote in a sarcastic kind of way. I think that the author is trying to teach us about role models. He is talking about a person who wants to look like his favorite person he might have read about or seen on television. He is also trying to make fun of the man mentioned in the second quote John Dillinger. As I looked at the picture for the second time, I noticed that there was another person standing in the bottom right corner of the picture. I am going to guess that the man in the right bottom corner is the man who the other man who is dressed up is having the conversation with. I think that the author is trying to send the person viewing the picture another message. He is trying to tell them to not copy how other people dress or how other people act. He is trying to teach the viewer to be themselves and to have there own style of clothes.
The last picture I chose to talk about is another picture having to do what looks like violent crimes and killing. The last picture shows a man during the punk rock era (because he has a Mohawk hair style.) He is standing in front of another man who has long hair and a beard. It looks like the guy with the Mohawk is begging the guy with the long hair and the beard for something. The words Helter Skelter is painted in red on the side of the wall. I don’t know why those words are painted on the wall because Helter Skelter is a serial killer. There is also another quote that says, “somebody got to learn you punkers how to do it right. You don’t use paint, you use blood, fresh pig blood.” The person with the Mohawk, is pranking everybody who sees the wall by writing the words Helter Skelter on the wall. Once again, the author is representing the punk era with this painting. He is showing how people in that era would like to cause trouble any way they could. In this painting, the kid with the Mohawk is painting the name of a notorious serial killer on the wall. This picture was very funny because the man who was trying to scare away people by writing Helter Skelter’s name actually gets scared away by the real Helter Skelter. It is very ironic that the person trying to scare everybody actually gets scared in the picture. That is why trhis picture is ironic.
Banksy
The artist that I decided to research is Banksy. Banksy is perhaps the most famous, or infamous, artist alive. I chose him because his paintings, or graffiti, interest and amuse me. The piece of his art that I like the most is the painting with the rat with the following words, “There’s no such thing as good publicity.” I found this painting very interesting. Publicity means extensive mention in the news media or by word of mouth or other means of communication (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/publicity). This interests me because a lot of Americans, including myself, view publicity as a good thing and we respect the people who have it, such as artists and celebrities.
Another thing that interested me was how he chose to use a rat in the picture with this saying. I found this interesting because it is as if the rat was saying this phrase. This is humorous and interesting because most people do not like rats. We view them as ugly creatures or pests. Rats have the opposite of publicity. The only publicity they have is negative such as, they are pests.
Most people believe that if you have rats then you live in a dirty area. This is because rats usually go in sewers, gutters, and dumpsters. In the picture it is like the rat is saying that he is not happy with society and the way that society views rats.
This ties in with another view I have on this painting. I think this painting is also trying to show us that Banksy does not like or agree with society. I feel this way because throughout most of his artwork he has images or words against society. Banksy specifically shows this in this painting because he goes against publicity, which again, society views as a good thing.
Another thing that I noticed, which was funny, was how in the bottom right corner of the painting, we can see the word, “FOX.” We can also see, “day 8 PM” and, “ber 1st.” From what we can see, under Banksy’s painting was an advertisement of a show on the channel FOX, that starts in a month that ends with “ber”, at eight p.m. This is funny because instead of choosing to paint this image on a wall or a building, Banksy decided to paint it over an advertisement, which is looked at by hundreds, if not thousands of people a day.
This decision ties back in with the rat acting out against society and stating, “There’s no such thing as good publicity.” This is because in the image, the rat decided to put his thoughts over society and advertising. Also by doing this, it looks like the rat is trying to hold back the publicity that the upcoming show will receive by hiding the advertisement with his own thoughts.
This painting could also be tied in with Banksy’s history. From doing some research, I have found that many people believe Banksy is a myth. These people believe that “Banksy” is a bunch of artists who use the name “Banksy” with their artwork. Many people also believe there really is a solo man named Robin Gunningham, who is a native of Yate, Gloucestershire, near Bristol and was born in 1974. This group of people believes that Banksy was raised in Bristol, England. Banksy is believed to be the son of a photocopier engineer; he trained as a butcher but became involved in graffiti during the great Bristol aerosol boom of the late 1980s.
“But perhaps his most provocative statement, and the one that generates the most publicity, is the fact that Banksy's true identity has always been a jealously guarded secret, known to only a handful of trusted friends” (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1034538/Graffiti-artist-Banksy-unmasked---public-schoolboy-middle-class-suburbia.html). In this statement the word, “publicity” is mentioned. This again ties into why Banksy probably does not like to release information about himself. He sees all the publicity he gets with people barely knowing anything about him, and thinks about how much publicity he would get if people knew everything about him. Banksy might also not release his identity because some of his artwork could be offensive to some people. This could be an attempt to stay out of trouble.
In 2004 people believed that Banksy was located in Jamaica. This is because of a photograph taken in Jamaica showing a man in a blue shirt and jeans, with a smile on his face and a spray can near his feet. Banksy and anyone acquainted with him denied the man in the photograph was indeed Banksy. After doing more research, researchers found a school photograph, taken in 1989, of Robin Gunningham in which he shows some resemblance with the man in the photograph taken in Jamaica. One of Robin Gunningham’s former neighbors said that Robin’s parents weren’t happy with the way their son ended up, which caused a rift in the family. He also states that when Robin Gunningham left home, he disappeared. This shows us that Robin Gunningham could very well be the man we know as “Banksy”.
From the research we can tell that Banksy does not like to be identified. If he is not identified, he does not have to deal with publicity. This could tie into why he believes “There’s no such thing as good publicity.” Until recently many people did believe he was just a group of painters. With the recent research, more people have been finding out pieces of his true background and evidence that can prove that his name is truly Robin Gunningham. Still today, Banksy does not admit to the public that his name is indeed Robin Gunningham. Banksy also does not sell his artwork. The only way you can buy his artwork is if you buy the location, such as the building or street corner, in which his artwork is painted upon. This is another way that he has been able to hide his identity and stay away from the publicity, in which he believes, there is no good.
Untitled, 1976
Jerry Uelsmann’s Untitled, 1976
is a black and white photograph that has gone through some major editing. It’s a very realistic picture that looks like it was actually taken, because it was done so well. In the picture there’s a room, the room looks like it would be in a very rich and or educated person’s home. The room has only four walls that can be seen. Unlike an ordinary room there is no ceiling. In place of the ceiling is an open sky. The sky is very cloudy and very dark, the kind of clouds one would expect to see during a storm. Directly sitting behind those clouds on the left hand side is a sun. The sun is sort of peeking out from behind the clouds, but only a fourth of it can be seen, and there are several rays of light coming from it.
The walls of the room are for lack of a better word, bold, like rose wood or mahogany. On the farthest right wall there is a fire place, the fireplace is very nice looking. The fire place has some unlit wood logs in it, they are very neatly stacked on top of each other, on the right side of the fire place are a couple of logs. Above the fireplace sits a mantel piece, with nothing on it. The upper wall has a decorative border that sticks out from the wall. It looks like a paintings’ frame was hung but instead of a picture being in the center a piece of wood was set in the middle. The top of the border goes in layers, getting thicker with each layer, then it sort of forms a triangle but the top points don’t meet. They make their own points and are separated by an inch. In the center of the decorative border sits an ornamental plate. The plate is very deep; a shadow is able to cast itself within the plate. The wall to the left of the wall containing the fire place is stuck in the corner, so it’s harder for the observer to see. But a bureau or a chest of some sort is slid up right against the wall, and there set on top of the bureau is a bouquet of flowers in a vase. Above the bureau is a mirror that is hung on the wall. The mirror looks like it might have what would be a gold thick border. In front of that wall also sits a chair, the chair is very thick and is big enough for one person. The wall to the left of that wall, which is facing directly at the viewer, has a door on its right side. The door is outlined with a decorative border which continues up and above the door. The border is very elegant looking and is very similar to the border of the wall. On the left side of the wall is another mantel piece, but this time adorned with a vase of flowers. The wall also has some decorative trim; it’s sort of broken into sections. The door part of the wall is sectioned with a trim going around the door’s border, and then there’s another in the center, and the last one is right near the bureau. The trim goes from left to right Thick, thin, and then thick again. The wall all the way to the left contains a built in book case, it has about eight shelves. Each shelf is full of books. In front of this wall might be a table or something, because there is a candle that looks as if it is floating of its own accord. The reason it’s hard to tell if there’s something which the candle is sitting upon, is because there is an obstruction of view. The candle is in a candle holder, that one can easily assume to be made of gold. In the center of the room lies a carpet with a lot of designs, most of them appear to be a sort of floral design. Around the rug is a border that has a strip pattern. The part of the floor that isn’t covered by the rugs shows that the floor is wood as well. The parts that aren’t covered by the rug are small sections before each wall. Sitting upon the rug is a desk, the desk looks like something one may find in an expensive antique shop. It is also this desk which acts as an obstruction to the view of the possible table which a candle sits upon. Anyways this desk is like a composer’s stand where it’s slanted facing towards the user. Standing on the desk is a little man who is walking on what may be a book that is on top of what may be a map or something, or it may just be the top of the desk itself, it is very hard to tell what it is. But the man is walking and he is about the size of an adult’s hand. His back is facing the viewer and it’s as if he is walking up the desk. The small man is casting a shadow on his right side. So what the viewer sees is a very elegant and classy room with four walls that are in view. The walls are adorned with very little; a plate, a mirror, and a bookcase along with the trim and borders of the door and walls. In the middle of the room is a floral patterned rug, which has a desk sitting upon it. On the desk is a very small man walking up the desk. The other unusual thing about the room is the open ended sky. Other than those two things the room is an expensive room with a few chairs and chests that have flowers. If one had trouble imagining what kind of room this would be look, imagine Hugh Hefner in a bath robe sitting in a study he may own.

What I wish he did was that I wished the author showed us what the suspects were doing in the picture. That way we could make easier predictions about what the suspect was being arrested for and for who the other suspect in the picture was.
The second painting I chose in my opinion was very strange. The picture shows two men. There is no color to the two individuals in the picture so they are in black and white. One of them, the man on the right side of the painting is smoking. The man on the left has his arm around the man on the right. Both men are wearing dark sunglasses. The words next to the guy on the right says, “I stole my sisters boyfriend, it was all whirlwind, heat, and flash. Within a week, we killed my parents and hit the road.” I found that quotation to be a little disturbing. I think the author was trying to make the viewer of the painting to feel a little disturbed. That’s what makes the painting more stronger to view. This piece of art is very strange because it is kind of talking about what sounds like a serial killer. One of them says, “I dig looking like this, got a gripe.” The second quote says, “Are you kidding? You make that pug ugly punk John Dillinger look like Clark Gable”. This quote was a little confusing because of the people mentioned in the quote. I didn’t know who John Dillinger is and I didn’t know who Clark Gable was. The second quote is answering the question in the first quote. I also think that the second quotation is answering the first quote in a sarcastic kind of way. He is trying to teach the viewer to be themselves and to have there own style of clothes.
Raymond Pettibon’s art is very unique. It is unique because he doesn’t use color in his paintings. Most of his paintings are in black or white like newspaper sketches. I am also interested in his art because he has little quotations to go along with the artwork. It is kind of like the author is trying to tell the viewer of the art a story . That is the reason why I chose to write about these three pieces of art.
My 1,000 word description
MASK
mask
In the painting "Mask" the woman that seems to be a model kind of has a mask on her face everything is covered except her eyes which seems to look a little devious( devious- not straight forward; shifty, departing from the correct or accepted way; erring, deviating from the straight or direct course; round about, away from a main road of course; distant or removed)her eyes are almost saying: "I have a hidden little serect and nobody knows but me. There's also a rock mask figure on her body the mask is unattractive which represents an ugly body in the inside which also makes her outside ugly with the horn like hair in the picture, I think it symbolizes that her inside is hard as a rock, ugly, and cold because most rocks are cold(rock- a mineral matter of variable composition, consolidated or unconsolidated, assembled in masses or considerable quantities in nature, as by the action of heat or water, a firm foundation or support.)So meaning her personality, her soul is ugly. And the model also has her arm covering her body because she's insecure so that gives her a cold personality. And there is also a picture behind the model maybe it's something in her past, something hard and dark which makes the person she is today.
ADULT FEMALE SEXUAL ORGANS
adult female sexual organs
For my description on "Adult Female Sexual Organs", there's a picture of an african american woman's skin tone is very very black! almost as if the picture was taken in black and white. the womans's lips are huge!, with red lipstick. I believe the red lipstick on her huge lips dignifies her strive to becoming a beautiful women in he mind, and also the color red symbolizes anger to see red is to become vey angry; become enraged; so when I view this red color of lipstick on her lips the woman probaly has anger maybe about her looks she maybe is angered about her insecurities on her skin color, lips, and maybe race. The picture also shows that the woman has brown wrapping tape on her face, covering everything except her eyes, nose, lips, and her thoughts about a white model. I believe the white fashion model represents the person that she wants to be in life. My thoughts are that she wants to be the white fashion model because she look happy, beautiful, fashionable and white! The definition of white is auspicious or fortunate, morally pure; innocent, without malice; harmless; decent, honorable, or dependable. Ex: " that's very white of you". A color without hue at one extreme end of the scale of grays, opposite to black. A white surface reflects light of all hues completely and diffusely: most so-called whites are very light grays: fresh snow, for example reflects about 80 percent of the incident light. It is the ultimate limit of a series of shades of any color. The definition of white has a lot of good meaning to it, knowing that, i believe the woman in the painting wanted to be white and have those good meanings about her. The definition of black is: soiled or stained with dirt, gloomy; pessimistic; dismal, deliberately harmful; inexcusable, boding ill; sullen or hostile; threatening; without any moral quality or goodness; evil; wicked; indicating censure, disgrace; or liability to punishment, marked loyaisaster or misfortune: based on the grotesque, morbid, or unpleasent aspects of life, done or written in black to indicate, as on a list, that which is undesirable, sub-standard, potentially dangerous. The meaning of black has a lot of dark, sinister meaning to it. After knowing the definition of Black it don't think anyone would want to call themselves black, the woman in the picture is so black! She doesn't see anything good about herself so she wants to be something pure, clean, and exceptable, maybe she tried to become a fashion model also but she couldn't because her look was unexceptable, she was to black, maybe if she was really trying to be a fashion model race probaly played a big part with her not making her dream come true, people probaly thought of her as dirty and unreliable. So maybe thats the reason why she has a picture of a white fashion model in her mind. In the picture the women also has light brown wrapping duct tape on most of her face. The duct tape is way lighter than her actual skin color that she would hopefully like to have as an arican american but she can't so she put the duct tape there to represent the skin color that she wants to have. Being light brown like the wrapping duct tape would be the next best thing to a white skin color. And also the picture has a white patch of cotton on her face. Cotton means: a soft, white, downy substance consisting of the hairs or fibers attached to the seeds of plants belonging to the genus Gossypium, of the mollow family, used in making fabrics, thread, wadding, etc. to become fond of; begin to like, to approve of; agree with it come to a full understanding of; grasp. Maybe the cotton represents the women being soft and peacefully and also white or maybe it's something she's wanting to be in life soft and white. In the back of the head there is a part of the brain that is showing which is the cerebellum. The cerebellum is the trilobed structure of the brain, lying posterior to the pons and medulla oblongata and inferior to the occipital lobes of the cerebral hemispheres, that is responsible for the regulation and coordination of complex voluntary muscular movement as well as the maintenance of posture and balance. So I believe the artist concluded the cerebellum to show that even though this character might be feeling ugly or insecure she still keeps her head up, she still has her pride in being a dark African American woman.
1004 words
This is E Pluribus Venom is one of the images that I’m very interested to do, this is the actually the image that made me chooses Shepard Fairey. In this picture there are three red orange roses popping out of the black guns which three hands are holding it. The guns are detailed by with little bit of lemon chiffon yellow highlights the rest is black, the lemon chiffon yellow highlights turn into a sunburst with red orange combined the part wish is lemon chiffon yellow it has tiny plaid print added to it; to me this picture means that there should not be any kind of war, we should spread love rather then shooting bullets. There is also a word in the lower left corner that says “OBEY” in a funky font which also is in lemon chiffon yellow. The word obey means discipline to me, I can interpret the word the artist might us to think can be that people also should also discipline them selves to make peace. The hand which are holding the guns can represent any kind of military figure. The sunburst gave the rose hope or light to a new path. It reminds me of a religious figure that is showing you the lead to the right path to somewhere decent. To me the sunburst also shows me that roses give out great power of love and make the image pop out. The bright red roses with the yellowish and reddish sunburst caught my eye. The color red makes me think of war, because the blood that is shed in the war then I try to think it also can mean love. I also think Shepard Fairey can also represent that love can pop out of anywhere because he has a rose shooting out of a gun where usually bullets are fired out to show hatred. I also think that why he had used those military figures to show that love can happen rather then war. As the saying “make love not war.” It shows the impossibility but this is his hope that he is expressing by drawing his feeling and thoughts out to show the audience how the world should be. I also did some research what does three red orange roses mean because I had a feeling there is a reason why the artist only had drawn only three roses, he could have drawn less or more of them. I have found that if they there are three red roses’ it means I love you as I said before I think he is trying to tell us that love pop out of anywhere if we commit to peace and believe in love rather then showing hatred. He has drawn an ironic picture that makes a person think about what is this picture about a picture that shows three guns shooting out three roses which I think three someone from the military holding them, rather then shooting bullets there are shooting roses. A person can interpret the art in any way they can because in any means that people understand this art is about having peace. I can tell Shepherd Fairey, he would like peace and love most of his art work is about peace and love, it is very political drawing. This picture also shows us little part of hope of peace that’s what sometimes his drawings make me think. His choice of color’s makes you attract to his art he uses bright colors to make his point across. Too because red is a bold color that makes you think and catches your eye it makes you also think deep Red also gives you the mix emotions also anger, war. and love. It hard to guess what emotion he trying to express but I guess it can be all three he can be expressing in one picture. The black which details make the picture pop out and the lemon chiffon yellow makes it calm it all these three colors that makes the picture exiting and makes it appealing to the eye. This picture can show some anger because there is no peace and love, express the war, and express hope of love. His color choice does make you think what is happening. The colors makes you think fast what is happening in the picture, in the world, or what is happening around you. The colors mean a lot in painting I guess because if they were calm colors like light pink, yellow or gray it would make your thinking go slow and calm but the artist to make a bold statement and wants the audience to think on the spot. The picture does set the mood of the painting because Shepard Fairey is a bold artist whose drawings give you chance to think he has uses ironic ideas to make his points across.
Elephant
The artist I chose to write about is Banksy, a very famous Graffiti street artist with no sure identity. In his photograph on his website I chose to write about of the elephant in a room, in the room there are six pictures two couches a woman reading a book, a lamp and an elephant who is painted to match the wall’s wallpaper. The first thing you notice when you look at the photograph is the fact that there is a big elephant in the middle of the room, you just cannot miss it, it is far too big, and the fact that it is an Indian red color to match the already boldly colored wallpaper makes the elephant a far more obvious, which is part of a commonly used saying “elephant in the room” which people commonly use to describe someone everyone is presently aware of, but is not discussed because it is considered uncomfortable or awkward to discuss the topic. The next thing one would notice is the woman in the chair, ignoring the huge elephant. The next thing one would notice are the six paintings one of famous paintings which are modified from their originals. The top left is an older portrait with it modified to make it look like the man is holding up the middle finger to whoever is looking at the portrait, also it is the only portrait in a circular frame. The Painting below it is a painting of a woman sitting outside with a mask of some sort on her face. The painting to the right of that woman painting is a painting of a jungle being invaded by aliens with alien spaceships and lasers with one of the alien ships outside of the frame of the painting. On the other side of the elephant is a man with an egg cracked on his head in a circle with a square frame everything but the egg splatter being black and white. There is also a smell chandelier above the elephant. There was a card near the exibit that read this:
"There's an elephant in the room.
There's a problem that we never talk about.
The fact is this life isn't getting any fairer.
1.7 Billion people have no access to clean drinking water.
20 Billion people live below the poverty line
Every day hundreds of people are made to feel physically sick by morons are art shows telling them how bad the world is but never actually doing something about it.
Anybody want a free glass of wine?"
The elephant is supposed to be a allusion to poverty and the fact that not many people are doing anything about the issue. Which is one of the messages Banksy commonly addresses in most of his works.
Another work by Banksy, Macdonna, is a black and white work of a woman laying down, holding her stomach wearing robes and in pain or dying. With a cup of soda, a box of fries and a box with a burger in it, these three items being the only thing in color where as the woman is in black and white. The food being a symbol for McDonalds, which you can tell by either the name of the work because it is called “Macdonna” or the fact that the fast food has a big M on the box of fries or that the burger is in a box which Mcdonalds is one of the only world-wide spread fast-food restaurants that put’s its burgers in boxes. The woman is clearly in some kind of pain as she is holding her stomach the McDonalds being there makes it seem like she ate some and now is in some kind of pain, as McDonalds is not good for you. Because of the lifestyles of today’s culture McDonalds is quite popular though it gives us cheap, unhealthy food and causes problems with people who are obese, and this is what is killing or harming this girl. This work was done one a wall just like most of Banksy’s other works as, he is a graffiti artist he uses stencils and spray-paint to paint most of all his works. All his graffiti is done on walls, because that’s what graffiti is. Banksy is pretty much anonymous because no one knows who he is, he prefers to remain that way, among other reasons why is because his works are illegal. His work is considered vandalism because he paints on people’s property.

The piece "A Bigger Grand Canyon" 1998 oil on 60 canvases, 81 x 291 in. overall, by David Hockney, is a mural that can be divided into six small parts. I would like to describe each part in a row. As an artist, I chose this painting because I really like the strong colors. The colors remind me the sunset.
The first part of the mural of the Grand Canyon has just some cliffs and cachets. There is a big tree in front, which makes the other trees in the back ground so small. There are only two colors. Sand, like a light brown and forest green like a dark green, which makes this just so sad, part of the picture. There is a light blue which means the sky, and means that the picture was taken or drawn in day light.
The second part of the mural is the beginning of the strong and happy colors that are so really alive. For example, there is no nature or animals, only the big walls for the desert. With a long distance, I can see a little of cachets or maybe a smalls trees that broke a red orange color. I can see that the cliffs are not straight, they are slanted, which probably means that something happened, or they were just always like that, like if the painter always imagine a cliff being that way.
The third part of the mural is a division between sand and a mountain with some nature. The walls of sand in are the back ground, and the mountains like a big rock, has trees with a shadows which means the beginning of sunset, going behind the mountains, or is at the top, being noon, in the middle of the sky.
The fourth part of the mural is very similar with the third part, like a mirror image. In front of this part, it is a dry mountain with two sides. There is a rock with a weird shape, that at first I thought it was a weird kind of animal. The bright red sand has some dark spots in it, which makes me think that the sand is not always clean.
The fifth picture of the mural shows that the right side of the canyon. It has more nature, but some of the trees are shown signs of weakness, meaning that the picture could have been painted in the beginning of fall. The sky shows some clouds, which makes me think the same thing I thought on the third part, that it is noon, and the sun is up high in the sky. I noticed that the shape of the rocks at the bottom left are weird, and they look like stairs, as if there was a way for someone to come up and see the beautiful image.
The last image of the mural shows the darker shaded part of the canyon, that is a beautiful red. It is more dramatic, and gives the image a forbidden sense. If the sky was not so blue, I would have thought that it was night, and the image was somewhere near a scary place, because of the shape of the naked trees. The branches are crazy shaped and it looks like they are hands trying to catch something. The rock in the right hand corner of the picture looks like a temple, and the grayish blue thing next to it, looks like that is the path where someone would walk by to see the beautiful place and think about life or whatever.
A Bigger Grand Canyon is a statement by the artist about the depiction of space and the experience of being within a space, or travelling through a space, over time. In this remarkable landscape, Hockney has drawn from a lifetime’s experience. He refers to the lessons of Cubism, where a subject is depicted with multiple viewpoints. There are lessons drawn from a careful examination of painting where different time sequences, different elements of a cityscape or landscape form an apparent whole. There are the lessons learned from Hockney is own set designs for operatic productions. A significant lesson was learned while driving through vast landscapes in his car listening to music. In Hockney is view, music is ‘an art of time and of movement and so driving a car though a landscape ... they have connections ... [with] Nature doing the lighting.
The artist has woven together all the elements he perceives in his subject, and those he imagines. The painting suggests what it is like to be in a landscape, to travel around in it, to view tiny details as well as dramatic vistas, to see changing light, to trample the earth under foot, and to feel the sun beating down. The viewer has the breathtaking experience of rounding jagged outcrops, descending rocky steps, looking down over dry river beds and viewing distant escarpments, while confronting at close hand strange sculptural forms. It is a most suitable subject for a painter obsessed with space — how you perceive it, how you depict it. The experience of viewing the Canyon from the rim, as Hockney has noted, is remarkable: ‘You can peer into it for an awful long time. And you look all over. I mean, it is the one place …
where you become very aware of how you move your head, your eyes, everything.
While the A Bigger Grand Canyon is set within the European landscape tradition, the colors, the experience of being in the landscape and the sense of the universal, imbue the painting with a level of meaning not seen before in Hockney is work. It suggests a move to an art of Symbolism in a landscape of almost unimaginable space. Emotionally loaded in its colors, forms and scale, the painting extends the boundaries of the landscape.
A Bigger Grand Canyon is rich in gold, crimsons, scarlet’s, oranges, nchres and browns, and contrasts of brilliant blues and greens. The visual impact, on even the most jaded late 20th-century eye, is as powerful and confronting having been in the dimly colored, restrained world at the beginning of this century.

Pyronate
The number one image that I see Norbert Bisky was drawing me to it by how simple it was, and yet if you really look at it then you will notice that there is an ocean that the color oily bleu created and the grass color that seems to be floating along with the deep bleu clearly ocean seems to reminds me on the earth if you can imagine it. The earth color consume as an bleu and greenish color which represent water and land that seems to be on the same boat floating side by side. working together in other to have a success along the way. The bleu seems to me like it is to be associated with girls that are pure. Not in some different since but it also makes the painting seems peaceful, calming. The slash of the bleu altogether then changes the whole picture into a depression. Bringing the green next to the bleu vanish all the sadness it shows jealousy, something that is not lucky in a way that is complicated, it show how much growing that the artist as indented to have having to do something that is beyond what you could ever think of. Beside that he brings out a house that is made out of gray splash of mix with white and inside the window you see some kind of green that is more different from the on that is together with the oily bleu, and yet so similar. The house come out of no where from my point of view that the green that is inside comes from the way that the gray which is a mixture of black and white which represent sorrow outer space that trap all the goods and strength all inside. It as though I could say that people are like the green that is inside the house, they are stuck/surrounded by all the sorrow in their life that they don’t even notice the dash of red that seems to be balancing out of nowhere, and yet you see so many of them.
The house looks so crush down, about to fall down. A guy is standing on top of the house, without anything on. The guy is completely naked, without anything but a hose with fire coming out of it. But looking down at the house it is as though the hose is melting instead of fire, it looks like the house is being melting or the house that looks like fire in returns turns out to be water that washes all the colors away from the house. And it is to be left dull, boring without life. The slash or red that is being provide as so little in this image represent to be as happiness that needs to be found that couldn’t be found in the or is lost that haven’t been needed. It kind of has something to do something with the man the picture. The way I could say it would be like it’s suggesting that men have an urged to create a bond with own his life and of those who created it. By mixing the white trace and also the little amount of white it represents uniforms. Noticing the orange that one of the guy is wearing which is surrounding the waist of one of day t he guys, seems to put man at balancing through life. Like they have a demanding attention that is needed towards them and only them. But then again it looks like only one of that have balance towards their life. The black, which seems to take up most of the place, or should I say that surrounds all of the colors all together, that embrace the majority of the colors have basically worn out. Because a color that get mix up with black will never have their significant color again because the color will come out darker than it should have possibly. But then into the dark you could see strike of different colors up there that looks a lot like shooting starts from out of no where to an unknown place surrounded by the unthinkable. When I see shooting stars I keep thinking that I will make a wish and it will come true eventually, the dark make it seems like it is the sky the dot look like the starts that belongs up in there and will have to travel along the ay with the people or should I say with the guys that are in it. The guys seem to have some king of freedom, careless. I am always bringing my intention back toward the black because no matter what colors they have in the pictures but the black seems to be taking over it. One of the things I gets me thinking is a uncertain thing, is the fact that one of the guys is reaching for something but I couldn’t tell on whatever he was reaching because it was as the same color as the oily green, to that it makes it disappear, or should I say it look lost in there like it’s along. One of the thing that bothers me or should I say that catch my eyes was the fact that the guy with the orange strap on his waist, as I look down toward his hand, it looks like it have with some kind of bloodstain that is unclean. Dirty hands make him seems like he was being done something toward his action.
The one other painting that I also seem to appreciate is the aquageddon. To me it brings out something biblical with it that recommends so much more info. For instance when I look in the painting I see water, fire, people, cross two guys who is being intimated while you look at others face and all you could see se is fear. Then along the way you see a dog, I wouldn’t really know what kind of dog it is because it seems like it is hurt, according to the blood that is on his body, and then while going around the dog to see what is going on, you see a head that is being cut, that brings me back to the fact the dog or as I say it is called that he might not be the one that is hurt after all. It proves that the dog is the one might kill the person which head was next to. The blood is stick on him come from the person that is now no alive. Looking down at the water you could see different things there, for instance the water have a splash of redness to it. Floating on the water you see a mattress. When I see a mattress all I could think of is sleeping. Because that is the only thing that could refers tiredness. Having seeing the cross it got me thing of the bible literally because the cross as it is refers is when they have crucify Jesus.
By looking up above the painting you see a king of a formal person that is in the same state, it looks like he was being crucified, along the way next to him you could see people being pulled away, like it’s the wind that is poling them. The most important thing that could be identifying, as it will pursue to be the end of the world sticks me to, sin. It looks like the one that have being doing good deeds have being pulled away form the way the sanity that is being cause in the earth for those who had not being following the rules. As anyone who could have read the bible would know that is says that when it will comes to the end of the earth people will now know anything because they will be so blind by sins that they would not have enough time to correct their mistake. Taking the guys that looks like they were going to have sexual relation, looking down you could see like there is a big bleu ocean that is surrounding them but they look like they are too busy taking care of themselves that they don’t know nothing about their surrounding. By moving down toward the bottom of the painting the is a man that is being like the stainable man that could be like the one that could take care of everything. It looks likes people are dying, looks like a big movement are happening. My looks like the ends of the world. it looks like the end of the world is happening that people are being trap in a fundamental time. I’m wondering if the end of time is being arriving without being announced.

Kara Walker displays the hardship and forced work of labor slaves had to do in order to survive. In this first silhouette, it shows a man sitting on a rock exhausted from playing with the instrument in his. He has a wind up on his back where you turn it and it’ll keep on doing an action until it stops then you repeat if you want to continue. There’s a little girl behind the man who looks like she’s sneaking up behind the tired man. She seems to want to wind up the man and play the instrument some more. I think the instrument represents the work and hard labor that slaves had to do. The wind up displays the time of how long the worker or man can play his instrument. The man’s fingers are lingering over the instrument, and he’s leaning forward if he’s going to fall or pass out. He’s like a wind up toy that you can play with at any time, yet when playing with it, it’ll break. The man is being used up many times that he’s going to breakdown as well. You can see how the man is tired by how his tongue is sticking out shows he’s out of breathe. Also you can see the outlines of his back as if his bones were sticking out of shirt. It shows how he’s weak and fragile at this point. The man is incapable to work any more, however the girl behind him does not think so. She is the controller, the boss, the commander, which is not right for she is just a child and the man is an adult. The girl is shown in well dressed clothes including a dress and a head bonnet while the man is wearing a tight shirt and pants. Although you man not see the colors or details within the silhouette, the outlines of it are well displayed. This silhouette can question many people, but the girl in the background made me wonder why she controls this grown man. The research about Kara Walker reports that she displays her works based on slavery. Then the man may be a black man controlled by a white girl. In the past, color only mattered to people and people who were different were discriminated against. It didn’t matter how old people were, only the skin color. I think Walker wanted to show how people were worked into exhaustion then into death using simple silhouettes to get her point of view out to the world. Also how people didn’t have a choice and it’s like they had a wind up on their backs so they had to do what they were commanded to do whenever and wherever. Walker has shown slavery using fantasized characters with a hidden message behind it all.
In this second silhouette, there is a girl flying away with the wind into the sky. There is also a boy with a man, most likely his father, blowing a dandelion. In the sky, along with the girl, are specks of the dandelion that the boy blew away. The girl seems hopeless and just floating away without any emotion or movement. I noticed how the girl’s legs are dangling and her head is tilted forward showing that her head is not held up high. Yet if her head were held up high then that’ll show hope. The legs that hang down display the emotionless and motionless characterization of the girl. The girl may be dead for she is not showing any sign of life. She might also be depressed and she’s floating off into a better world than the one she is now. There’s a parachute connected to the girl, which I think means so she can land safely somewhere. However, I think she is floating upwards into heaven and the parachute will help land her there. Along with specks of dandelion, it shows how she floats freely such as them. The parachute can be making her float into the air and the wind is flowing into the parachute allowing her to move upwards. It may also be a connection with the girl as she might’ve wanted to flow away from the world so she can be free. I also believe the other meaning to this silhouette by having the girl being sent free. The boy blowing into the dandelion displays how he’s sending her free along with his father by the boy’s side. It could mean a bad thing or a good thing. The bad part would be of how the girl could’ve died because of the boy and the father and they’re sending her off to heaven. The father may be encouraging the boy to set off the girl into heaven for he is the one who blew the dandelion and how the father is pushing the boy. However, the boy may not want to blow into the dandelion sending the girl to her fate. The good part would be how the girl is free because of how the boy and the father might’ve saved her and she’s going off into a better place. Also, I believe this involves with slavery and the captivity of how the girl must’ve felt during those times. There were people who would help slaves to have a better life and didn’t discriminate against them. However, there were people who were racist and worked slaves to death with no guilt afterwards. I see this silhouette has two opposite meanings to it and they contradict themselves. Yet when someone else may look at this silhouette and can see or think of more than two meanings. Each silhouette done by Walker, mostly involves a horrible a meaning behind it. The characters in the silhouettes may fool people because they are fantasized and drawn like a fairy tale. The looks of the pieces aren’t what they seem depending on how you view them. Each person’s views are different from each others, yet the true meaning are within the pieces.
The piece I chose to describe is Max Ernst by Max Ernst. The first note of description about the piece selected is the fact that there is no color, only gray scale. There are no true blank spaces; there is minute detail in every inch. The focal point of the piece is a woman, who is more or less centered horizontally, though she is leaning towards a man to the left of the piece. Opposite the woman is a man, who takes up substantially less room in the piece than the woman. He is wearing a smoking robe that reaches down to his knee level. The robe is sashed with a snake hanging down nearly to the floor, its mouth opened. The mans posture is rigid and he has his right hand up and back to his shoulder level, palm out toward the woman. His left hand is down towards the woman’s waste as if they were about to dance. He has muttonchops sideburns and backwards combed hair and a deeply furrowed brow, which coupled with his posture, creats an air of arrogance. His shoes are highly polished. Though it appears that he and the woman are about to dance his expression is extremely cross. He wears a gentleman neckerchief around the neck of a fine white shirt.
The woman has a medieval looking frock on, the type that gentry wore at a time, with extremely pronounced hindquarters. From the center of the rump of the dress are large avian wings which would go to the floor is she weren’t canted in the mans direction. The dress is cinched tightly at the waist as if the woman was wearing a corset under the frock, not uncommon for the time. Her hands are outstretched before her, her left hand reaching for the mans right hand, and her right hand clasping his left shoulder. From below the waste the garment hangs loosely from the woman, with deep ruffles in the fabric as was once considered stylish. The slip under her dress is rippled, and below that you can see that her weight is on her left foot as she leans forward to the man, and she is on the balls of both her feet. The wings extending from the rear of the womans gown are not folded nor fully extended, but rather draping, with the feathers closely cropped together.
The womans facial profile is disposed of a pleasurable expression, and her bangs bow in to the center of her forehead. She has a band around her head, just above her bangs, and a large decorative feather pinned into the top of her quaff. Behind the woman, his back to the wall and facing the couple is a swarthy man wearing what might be white servants clothes with a cloth or jacket fastened around his waste. His eyebrows cast shadows over his eyes, and his hands are folded in front of his waste. He has a dark bandana on his head wrapped very tight, and sports a somewhat burly beard. Directly above his head behind him on the wall hangs a piece of artwork in a decorative frame in which is depicted the side of a mountain with large fragmented chunks of rock cascading down. The picture is extremely large, nearly the height of a man. The walls are covered with a flowing vine wallpaper. In front of the bearded man but behind the woman is a table with a very fancy carved base. Upon the table is a stem which contains what may be sheet music, an urn, and a filigree inlaid rectangular box whose top is opened and leaning back although I cant discern what is housed inside. It would make sense that if the paper contained sheet music that it might be an instrument, but it looks like no instrument I know of. Perhaps it is jewelry. Next to the table base is an ornately carved footstool. The room that the couple and bearded man are in is very large, the ceilings at least fifteen feet high based on the scale of the people. Behind the man with the smoking jacket is the edge of an immense doorway, which must be easily twelve feet tall. The floor beneath them all is carpeted in a swirling pattern. No light source is pictured, but there may be a wall mounted lantern to the left of the door, based on where the shadows are cast, which is to the right and upward. There is a wooden inlay around the base of the wall which seems to flare into possibly a small fireplace behind the bearded man, at the top right and left corners are sprouting candle holders containing long thin caper style candles. The top of the walls are more darkened than the rest, and the heads of the people fall perhaps halfway down from the top of the entire piece, though their feet do not go quite all the way to the bottom of it. This accentuates the tremendous size of the room, which must be representative of the wealth of the persons in it, at least the gentleman with the sideburns and the lady with the feather in her hair. The two-therianthropic points of the wealthy dancing couple are nearly blended into them so as to not be noticed. If one was to look for a brief moment, the feathers of the wings on the womans dress are very nearly part of the fabric of her train, and the gentleman’s serpentine belt can easily be passed over by the eye as merely a loose and flowing sash around his lounge coat. Though these points create an easy distinction once recognized, they are not overt.
There are no animalistic points in the bearded man. Perhaps this is to illustrate the latent differences between the gentry and the proletariat. Or perhaps it is intended to illustrate differentiating gender roles, as the only movement in the picture is on the part of the woman. The piece has the feel of olden text prints. The first thing in the picture that my eyes were drawn to was the piece of art hanging on the wall, which was overall simplistic, but was also violent and naturalistic and forceful, which is antithesant to the entire piece. It looks entirely out of place in that room, along with the wings and the snake.
I choose Hans Hofmann for my research paper. And now I choose his painting Rising moon to explain. It was painted in 1964. This was an oil painting. The oil was on the canvas.
Hans Hofmann used five main colors. There were blue, green, yellow, red and black. The background color was blue. But it had a little white in the painting. He also used seven different rectangular in the painting. But this painting was different from others painting drawn by him. Because of in this painting, he used a lemon yellow circle on the left upside. In the left side, he used a big part of scarlet, and its sharp was irregular.
If you stare the painting for a long time, you may see the big scarlet part like a bull. It had two little lemon yellow on the middle of the painting. So these lemon yellow parts were like the bull’s eyes. It seems a truculent bull. It was running there, and it looked like want to catch something. There was a little part upside on the dark back of the bull. It liked a demon. But it also liked an angel. Because the main color in this part was black, so it liked a demon. It also had a little part of white in it, and it liked a pair of wings. So it seems like an angel. Maybe it was a depraved angel. That was why the bull running. It was running based on the depraved angel’s idea. So the depraved angel wanted catch up something, maybe power. So it can beat someone. Because of there was a part of milk white beside the moon. That part liked an arrow. And the arrow’s direction was point at the bull and depraved angel. So someone wanted use an arrow to kill it. The depraved angel didn’t want to be killing, so it wanted to catch up some power to stop the arrow. There was a little part unshaped of red beside the small stand rectangular. When you recognize the big red part was a bull, so this part would be the red flag for the bull. When bulls see the red things, they would be very crazy. Nothing can stop them until they catch the red things. So it seems that there are someone wants to entice the bull to somewhere.
There were seven rectangular in the painting. They had the different colors and different size. Most of them liked stand on the painting, but one of them liked lie on the painting. These rectangular seem the enemy to the depraved angel. There were five rectangular in front of the bull and the depraved angel, and two rectangular on the bull. At last, one yellow-green rectangular under the bull. They were the power which to stopped the bull running. The bull strode cross one rectangular, but it hit by two rectangular. There were five power wanted to stop it. From the bull’s eyes, we can found that it didn’t want to stop. We can know that it wanted try its best to help the depraved angel to catch what he wanted from its eyes. A part of purple mix black under the four rectangular. Maybe that part was the bull’s shadow. But why? Why did a shadow in that part? From the title, we know that it was a night. Because a moon on the left upside. So the shadow would be in front of the bull, not behind it. That was very strange in this painting.
This painting used dark blue for its background color. It seems that he wanted tell us it was a clear night. So we can see clear in the night. The moon was in the painting’s left upside, but it only used a little part of the painting. Why did Hans Hofmann make the painting’s name “Rising moon” and only use a little part to draw the moon? I think Hans Hofmann used “Rising moon” as the painting’s title in order to tell us that the moon always there, no matter what happens. It always there and see all the things happen and the end. The moon didn’t change no matter what happened, no matter what you are doing. When you were doing a secret thing, no matter it was good or bad, you think it was secret, but in fact, the moon see all the things what you did.
I found an interest thing from the painting. Hans Hofmann used three shape of yellow in the painting. And their colors were different, too. If you see a long time on these parts, you will found that these three parts seem not in the same surface. The lying rectangular would be on the top surface, then the stand rectangular would further then the lying rectangular. The moon was the farthest of these three parts. The color of these parts also different. The lying rectangular was lemon yellow. Then the stand rectangular was a little darker than the lying one. The moon seems black compare with the lying rectangular. So you may have a special feeling from the color of yellow. It seems that the lying rectangular gave people a feeling of happy. And the moon gave us a little sad. If you can recognize the three parts of yellow had different surfaces, so you may recognize the big red, green, and blue rectangular also in the different surfaces. The blue one was closer than others. It gave you a feeling that it wanted to close you, and it didn’t want to wait one more second. Then the green one would closer from our eyes to the painting than the red one. It gave us a feeling that it didn’t nervous forever. No matter what happen in the world, it does its thing just base on its mind. At last, it was the red rectangular. It seems that it was very lazy. It wanted behind the others. So the painting had a feeling of three-D.
heaven and earth
Resurrexit
The painting called “Heaven and earth” depicted the image of heaven and earth in the mind of Anselm Kiefer. The first thing caught my sight is the heaven Kiefer drew. The heaven suspended on the middle of the painting, it looked like a hand of devil, and the heaven seems to be hold by the hand of devil. The heaven looked like made up from thousands of pieces of islands. The shape of the heaven is incomplete and unperfected. Thousands of ravines are arbitrarily distributed on the surface of the heaven, and made the landscape of heaven seems to be scarried. Lots of holes formed on the surface of the heaven. Some holes are dark and looked like abyss. The abysses are unevenly distributed on the surface of the heaven, forming a thrilling landscape on the heaven. Nothing is exist on the surface of heaven, the heaven seem to be lifeless and lonely. On the top of the painting, there is a building exists on the heaven. The building is looked like the Parthenon in Athens, but this building is destroyed and incomplete. The destroyed building still radiates some golden light and trying to cover the lifeless scene. There is a window on the center of the heaven; people can see the inside of heaven throughout the window. But the window is tightly closed and also closed the door on the uninvited visitors. The color of the heaven is mostly charcoal grey and partially dark. The high color deliver a sense of depressed to the reader. The image of the heaven from Kiefer’s picture is far away from the image of heaven in the general mind. The heaven from Kiefer is destroyed, lifeless and incomplete. A huge earth land is right under the heaven, the earth land is uneven and thousands of ravines are arbitrarily distributed on the surface of the earth. The earth seems to experience a great war and the war has destroyed everything once existed on the earth. The earth is lifeless and lonely. The color of the earth is mostly light brown and partially dark. There is a lake on the center of the earth, the water has frozen into ice and forming a light white color. Near the earth land is a huge sea; the color of the sea is white because the water turns into ice and forming a light white color. The sky is not blue anymore. The entire shy is mostly light grey and partially brown. The sky is covered by unnumbered dusts and forming the light grey color. The sun is covered by the countless dusts, only some golden sunlight pass through the heavy dusts and reflected a light brown color on the sky. The sun represents hope and faith, but the sun is blocked by the dusts, the entire world seems to be lifeless and hopeless. The earth and heaven are both destroyed. Nothing is complete and perfect. The entire world is grey and dark. The depressed color arose the depressed mind. The painting “heaven and earth” convey the message from Kiefer to the reader. The readers are able to tell the story Kiefer drawn on the painting. The painting of “heaven and earth” delivers a sense of the heaven is not perfect and possibly the heaven is hold by the hand of devil. The earth and heaven are destroyed by the human in the war; nothing would exist after the war. I chose another painting of Anselm Kiefer to help me to analyze his art. The painting called “Resurrexit”. On the center of the painting, there is an abandoned street covered with leafs. The color of leafs are beige, it seem to stay on the street for a long time. In the fall, leafs left the trees and lied on the street. The brown trees are bare and lonely; some red color is on the tree bark. Might be red color is blood. Possibly there was a war in here, but all the humans left. The street is full of leafs and dusts, it seems no one walk through the street for months. The street is endless and lifeless; no one can tell where the street starts and where the street ends. Some rocks are place on side of the street; it seems to be some corpse covered by hop-pocket. There is a snake moving to the end of the street. The color of the snake is black and white. The snake is searching for foods. There is a wooden peg near by the snake. I can tell that the tree is cut by saw by human, because the kerfs are smooth and clear. Some blood are cover over the wooden peg, and adding some fresh color to the grey color. Near the end of the street, the street are white, it seems to be cover with snow. Near the end of the street, one tree is almost fall down. The fierce wind bends the tree and forcing it to fall down. The sky is light blue and cover with black; it seems to be cover with the rain clouds. The rain clouds also block the sun shine from the sun. The street is abandoned and delivers a feeling of creepy to the reader. There is a staircase on the top of the painting. The staircases are made from woods; I can clearly see some cracks on the wooden staircase. There is a name scratched on the second step stair. But I can’t tell what the name is. There is a door on the end of the stair case, but the door is tightly locked up no one can pass through the door. The door directly points to the sky; possibly there is a hell or heaven behind the door. The painting depicted a scene after the war and the bloods are spilled on the tree and on the wooden peg. The corpses are lying on the floor. Nothing exists but the lonely snake. The painting delivers a sense of creepy and delivers how worse the war is.
Julian Beever
The artist I chose was Julian Beever. Before this research, I had no idea about him or his art work. Now I look at it amazed. Julian Beever is a contemporary artist, he is known for his work mostly in England, France and Germany. Sometimes the United States of America also. Julian Beever is very talented and every time I look at his work it takes me a minute to realize it is just a drawing. His artwork stands out to me because not just is it three dimensional, but the passion behind it is amazing. In 2006 Julian Beever painted all the sidewalks in Birmingham, for Chinese New Year, with the dragons to help them celebrate. That shows dedication, because knowing in the morning this is not going to be there is passion. Julian Beever knows every time he makes a new painting on the sidewalk, someone will walk over it, and it will get ruined. He knows it’s going to rain, or it’s going to snow, and it will get ruined. To know your art work that took so long wouldn’t be there in the morning when you wake up because someone could ruin it, shows dedication because it took so long in the first place. That is one of the many reasons I like Julian Beever not as Just a person, but as an artist.
The painting that most caught my attention was the painting that he did in France where he looks as if he is White Water rafting in water, when in reality it is just on the ground. His art is so amazing and I love looking at it and trying to understand it. I can see the passion behind every piece of art work. “Ce me fascine complètement!! Premièrement parce que c'est magnifique, et deuxièmement parce que c'est juste complètement dingue!!!! Comme j’aimerais habiter dans une ville entièrement repensée par Julian Beever!! Ce serait fou! “(This fascinates me completely! Firstly because it is beautiful, and secondly because it's just completely crazy!! As I live in a city completely redesigned by Julian Beever! This is crazy!) http://onceuponatime.romandie.com/ This statement was made by a man who lives in France and comments on all of Julian Beevers paintings. While looking at his painting and researching what other people say about them really makes me want to know more, and want to research everything on how he got to be so famous. His art is something that makes him, him. He really shows people that he means business and really helps people follow their dreams. He could have been a regular artist, who paints on paper, or paints the inside of houses. No, he wanted to stand out and show people you can do art anywhere. Julian Beever is a graffiti artist who went the distance to become who he is today. This painting on the white water rafting gets me every time I look at it. I see it actually happening and that really tells me he did his job with the three dimensional theme. The reason this caught my eye is because it keeps me coming back for more, only because its hard to grasp the first time you see it. This is something you see in books, but this man went so far and did it on the streets to show people his passion.
Another drawing I would like to mention is one where he is sitting down and holding the word WORLD with a women sitting on top, http://www.nyike.com/images/3d_paintings/Beever_World.jpg. This caught my eye because it shows that he is very welcome to new ideas. Every painting he does, she shows someone on it acting as if it is happening this way. In this picture unparticular, he is holding the word WORLD with a woman on it. I interpret this as he holds the world in his hands and world peace is something that matters to him. Other may disagree. A picture can say a thousand words. The color he used when making this is a purple, and it shows he is not scared of what people think about what colors he uses, or how he draws, or his career. This shows that he is an individual, and loves his work. I love looking at his work, and I love the stories behind it, on why he did it. Julian Beever does most of his work because people see it and love it and want it for their own, but it’s only going to stay for as long at the people want because in a second if they want they could ruin it but he is okay with that because of his hard work and dedication to what he does.
Tree House
When A Women Turns to Water
Jerry Uelsmann is an artist who was one of the first to ever use photo shop. His images are dark and seem to have much emotion throughout them. Many of them are gloomy and are untitled. Almost none of them have color. It shows an almost theme throughout his whole mind set of his work. A lot of the photo’s in Uelsmann’s collection have some sort of nature theme or look to them in some shape or form. Uelsmann is best known for his work with complex prints and negative imagery which is pretty much what all of his photographs contain in them. All of his photographs show an elaborate theme which is strange and unique compared to all other artists. He seems to focus on things such as angels, women, and nature in general. He believes that a photograph should not be tied together by just one negative but that a photograph should contain many negatives because it is what can make a picture so amazing. These pictures caught my attention because both of them show emotion through a photograph. Its like you can see what the artist is feeling as he put the negatives together to form one picture. That’s what makes him so interesting he puts his own emotions through the pictures and chooses negatives that almost have noting to do with each other but than do when you really look at them and think about them.
One of his works happened to catch my eye as oppose to all of the other ones. It is named the Tree House. It was a picture of a house that was built into the tree stump. It is a beautiful picture. It shows so many different things about the artist it almost opens a door to a whole new way of thinking. This picture also includes in the background another house almost off in the distance. It is all in black and white and it looks like a perfectly taken picture. His art is so beautiful that it makes it seem as though it was real. It looks as though it is real. There is a town in the photograph and it is also off in the distance. The tree branches hand off toward the edge of the photograph. it’s so interesting look at it. When you look thoroughly into it you see the message the photo is trying to show. Which is like loneliness. The tree in the picture is apart from all of the other houses in the picture and yet it is in the center. It is dark and the windows don’t have shades or anything covering them. In the windows all you can see is complete darkness. It makes you wonder about what kind of person the artist is. There is also no door to the house almost like there is no way out. It is very interesting to look at this house and than relate it back to your own life. In this particular piece the tree is his form of nature. It also looks as though he is trying to show how the world is changing. Before the house was built over the tree in the Photo there was a huge beautiful tree filled with color and such but as the world change the house was built in place of the tree but the roots still live within the house. It is a beautiful picture and shows many different things about the world we live in. The house in the picture also looks very old almost as if it had been there for many years before this picture was actually taken. The house itself also seems to be unique in its own way. It has a weird kind of roof it has two different shapes. Toward the front it is almost peeked at the top and as you can see the back of it looks as though is a completely separate roof. It makes the top of this house look different than an average house you would see nowadays. The house itself also has no porch on it. Its like as soon as you see the picture your eyes are drawn straight to the darkened windows. Its like they are endless holes. They have no real beginning and no end. Its amazing to see how he can turn this Picture into such a gloomy looking thing.
Another picture that has caught my attention was a picture with a young women in it. It is posted in a gallery name “When A Women Turns To Water.” The photo shows the women’s head and the beginning of her torso but as you look at the rest of the photograph her body turns into a river. The women looks as though she is at piece with the world and with nature. She has her eyes closed and looks as though she is completely relaxed. Her hand is gently touching her forehead and she is gently touching her forehead. The river is gently running through her body and out toward the beautiful landscape. The are beautiful snow covered mountains and it has the river running right though the mountains it almost creates a perfect valley between the two mountains. At the end of the river is another rock or small mountain. It cuts off the river and allows the river to stop right where it starts. The picture compares a women to the beauty of nature. Both in the beginning pure to the world . The women in the picture looks at piece being nude with also being in the naked nature. The women is also bigger than all three mountains it shows that although she is of equal beauty it is to show how she is still different from nature. She is an outcome of the beautiful scenery in the back ground. The artist uses all black and white colors which is a form of negative imagery.
These two pictures are just a few of the magnificent artwork in his thousands of galleries.
David Hockney
A Lawn Being Sprinkled
This picture immediately caught my attention. It in my opinion combines two very different types of styles. Painting of a scenery and modern art which consists of colors and shapes. The second of which I don’t really consider the second one of these two art styles an art. In all honesty how can you call splashes of paint in random shapes art? When my mom taught kindergarten her students made “art” like that. However the skillful way in which Hockney uses it allows me to actually call it art. He doesn’t just have shapes and colors he actually combines them to make a recognizable image. By combining the using of colors and shapes in such a way that creates an image of a scenery. In this case it is scenery of a lawn being watered by sprinklers. Most of Hockney’s work represents something from actual life. During the time that A Lawn Being Sprinkled was painted it was just becoming common to have sprinklers. This painting was probably made to show how new commodities were making life easier for normal people. The fact that Hockney dose this in his artwork is also a reason that I like his work. It gives me something to write about in this description. Back to the actual painting, in the painting there are primarily two shapes being used, triangles and rectangles. The triangles are almost all identical except for there size. The ones closer to the back are smaller to represent being father away from the reference point. By making this slight change in size Hockney effectively creates a sense of distance. The water triangles are not a solid texture. It becomes rough and non-solid as it approaches the top. For some reason the water is white and not blue. I don’t really know why Hockney did this but he did and there probably is a reason. I guess when you have water moving in a current it dose appear to be white. Moving past the water I want to look at the grass. All it really is is a rectangle with a crocked side. Who knows maybe it’s not crocked and the image I have is just cropped down. Each bunch of grass looks like it is just a brush stroke of green that had the very tip of the brush just barely dipped in white paint. The house in the background is jus a rectangle with a triangle on top of it. What caught my eye most of all when I saw this painting was that it almost looks like it was done in Microsoft paint. The grass could be a green background with white spray on it to make the individual stands of grass show up. The water could be thick spray paint in a small area. The house could be just two shapes with fill in color. It really is simple but it still came out well.
For my next picture I chose……..
The Road to York through Sledmere
I like this because it’s different. It has the feel like it is modern “art” but if you look at it, it could be considered more classical also. It is painted like a more classical painting in the sense what was painted but it was the way that it was painted that makes it more modern. By that I mean how the shapes and colors were put together. The first thing I saw when I looked at it was the road. I thought it was weird the way that it twisted. It looks like s chuck of the road was cut out and two pieces that weren’t originally together were forced together. Almost like when you force a piece of a puzzle into another piece that it doesn’t go into. I think that this might be related to the title. On the first part of the road there is what looks like a barn house on the side of the rode. I believe that this portion of the road represents the country. Then as soon as you go to the other part of the road the one that it doesn’t seem to fit with the houses become large and are made of brick. I think that this is supposed to be the city. The part of the road that is missing is what goes with the road in the title. I think that Hockney was writing about how the are between the city and the country can often be forgotten. Even today you still see it. What it probably really represents is the classes in society. The country represents the lower class and the city represents the upper class. Just like how the lower class is becoming more lower, the upper class is becoming more upper, and the middle class remains unchanged and ignored. Also to show that the two classes are beginning to separate farther and father from each other the road where the two that don’t fit meet seems to be squashed on one end and squishes on the other. How the upper class has the majority of the wealth and the lower class has a very small portion of it. The middle is missing because the middle class as I already said remains the same. The houses on the good side of the mismatched street meeting are almost mansions. This only fathers the idea that it is supposed to represent the upper class. The mansions like buildings are also all red. Red is the color of passion I believe that Hockney was trying to make a statement and say that people are more passionate about the rich because they are rich. That being said people have less passion for the lower class because the feel that there is less that the lower class can do for them then the upper class. Something that also struck me as odd is that you can clearly see the strokes of the paint brush on the picture. It makes it real easy to tell that Hockney put a lot of work into making this painting.
Painting One : There's no such thing as good publicity
Painting Two : The Sniper
Banksy is an anonymous British graffiti artist whose birth name is unknown. Banksy is famous for his trademark stencil-style “Guerilla” art in public spaces. There are all sorts of myth about him. People have a jealous factor of him because only his trusted friend knows him by his real name. People believe his name is “Robin Banks.” There is also another article about Banksy on a person whose name is “Robin Gunningham” which also seems to be his other identity. The first painting I notice was his graffiti art on a billboard. “There’s no such thing as good publicity.” This painting seems to have an original advertisement from FOX that premier on a day with a month and date. This painting is located at W Houston Street & MacDougal Street in New York, New York. Doing some research, I found out that the original ad is a “Pushing Daisy” ad for FOX. This painting is interesting to me because it portrays a message out to the public. Banksy’s graffiti art consists of four colors. From my guess of colors I think the colors are dodger blue, white, Indian red, and ivory black. The dodger blue gives the painting a calm feel, but it was originally part of the “Pushing Daisy” ad for FOX. The white represents neutrality. The ivory black color is a typical color for a rat. It seems to be like the rat is painting over the ad with the white paint on a paint roller. The Indian red portrays and represents the message of “There’s no such thing as good publicity.” It seems to me that Banksy chose this color fiercely because it’s a dark taste of red which can symbolize blood, love, hate, anger, and lust. The red on the painting sticks out the most because it gives the message of the graffiti art. Banksy seems brilliant because the way he chooses the style on paintings and where he chooses to draw the paintings is very clever. The color and the texture seems simple as it is, but picking the right colors for a painting helps portray the message. The message seems like it was written in blood or some sort. I think that where he decides to place this picture is a good idea because on the picture itself, it shows people walking by it staring into the painting. This shows that the outcome of the painting attracts people which portray the message of “There’s no such thing as good publicity.” The meaning of publicity is extensive mention in the news media or by word of mouth or other means of communication. Finding this out surprises me because the graffiti art gives the painting a message. Saying “There’s no such thing as good publicity.” After finding out the meaning, Banksy is saying that there is no good way or form or idea to say that there is a meaning to any news media by means of communication. I find this funny because Banksy is trying to give out a message, but then the message itself is telling the public that messages are no good in a sense of his painting. I think that the ivory black rat in the billboard represents Banksy because the rat itself is painting over the billboard. I also think that Banksy is saying that publicity is stupid because of his message on the billboard. This is funny because Banksy is giving a message and at the same time, people are reading it figuring out the message, and then Banksy’s just saying that there’s no such thing as a good message. I also notice that the white is bleeding off the billboard onto the cement wall. I think that it shows that the white color is very heavy because it’s overly used in the painting trying to cover the billboard which makes it drip in a sense.
Another painting by Banksy is the sniper graffiti art. The painting is located in Banksy’s hometown Bristol, United Kingdom. There seems to be a few colors on this sniper painting. Black, grey, white, and what seems to me a paper bag brown. There’s a sniper watching something and there’s a kid behind him trying to learn how to use the gun. I find this funny because snipers are trained to carry their sniper on the left shoulder because most snipers are forced to be right handed. In this picture, the sniper is holding the gun with his right shoulder using his left arm to shoot. This is incorrect because the recoil and stability of the shot won’t be as accurate. This painting has been criticized for its “off target.” The sniper on the painting is holding the gun completely wrong. Banksy is obviously trying to portray a message in this painting. This painting is said to be aimed near a hospital. I guess Banksy is trying to say that death is coming because guns usually mean violence. I also notice that it says SWAT on the sniper’s cap. Banksy probably uses black on this painting to symbolize death. Grey is also used which I think represents a depressed cloudy day. I feel that grey is put in the painting to show that it’s an unhappy type of mood color. I also think that this grey represents the mood of the hospital because being in a hospital surrounding is dramatic and dull. I think that the kid behind the sniper represents the idea of corruption because nowadays there is much gun violence that comes to play in the world. Banksy seems like his drawings are to open up people ways of seeing things to another level. I’m not sure what’s in the paper bag, but it has me thinking. I guess its some kind of throw up bag for the kid. I think that Banksy mainly uses black and grey to give a feel towards the graffiti art. I feel that the black and grey represents a typical gloomy day of rain with a storm of clouds all over the place.
The Artist that developed my piece of art is Kurt Wenner. This piece is done in perspectival anamorphosis style which is the distortion of the projection or perspective requiring the viewer to occupy a specific vantage point to reconstitute the image. The painting is a still life. The setting is a living room. There are many characters, they are having a good time, and they are young people.
The picture takes the whole space. There are not left blank spaces which make the wall and floor seem linked. The colors are very pale, none of them are dark. There are old and new motorcycles, the old one is a taxi. There are fruits on the floor as well as fish; there is a broken wall which leads to a living room. In the living room there are bricks which come from the broken wall. There are two sofas and a table. There are birds, there are papers flying everywhere. A young people are driving the motorcycle into the living room.
This picture interested me because it looks realistic and non realistic at the same time, the living room seems realistic but the wall drawing where the people is seems unreal. I would say that the author uses juxtaposition as a way to make the viewer be interested in the picture; for example: old and new bicycles, old and new types of clothes, females and males, young and old people, a house environment and a street environment. These things help make this painting interesting.
What’s going on is that the young people are acting all crazy, they have broken into this living room, they are bothering this young guy selling food in his motorcycle, they throw everything out, the driver seems scare but the people are just having fun. Somebody is pointing at the driver, like accusing him of something, it seems like he is trying to explain something. The fruits that fell from the motorcycle are staring to hit stuff from the living room and breaking them. There is boy pointing with his hand to one of the sofas. There is a lot of chaos on the background. A bag is flying and money coming out of it.
I think the picture represents freedom because of the broken wall. Also it represents how teenager’s life is crazy. This piece of art was done in a place where young people go by which also show that it represents that. Most of the people are confused and don’t understand what’s going on. These guys are bothering the old motorcycle driver and he is just doing his job. It doesn’t seem like the people in the picture care about breaking into this apartment or for the fact that they are bothering others. The living room is a quite place; the birds are flying because the people are disturbing their environment.
This picture is interesting because it relates a lot to teenager’s life, and it is also good because it looks three dimensional when its actually two dimensional. The author lets a girl lay on the picture, specifically on the sofa to prove how it would look very three dimensional. The colors also are pale which contrast the colors on the outside of the painting which makes this painting more interesting to the eye. There is only one female in the inside of the painting the rest are all males and they are the ones making all the trouble. It seems as if someone was eating but there is no one in the painting which means that the spot is open for someone who wants to lie on the painting. The painting is an illusion because if you saw it from another angle it would look flat; this makes the people going by have to stop and take a look at it. Some of these things look like they are popping out of the wall which is an excellent to make the two paintings link together. There are a lot of different thing going on so I think its representing a lot of different themes at the same time.

Banksy is a very famous British mythological graffiti artist painting with a spray paint can in hand. No one knows who he is. No one can seem to catch him. He sneaks through this night like a ninja, and when the sun comes up in the morning, there are all kinds of knew graffiti in town. His works are famous on his style of painting is humorous and ironic.I was attracted by his works because I'm impressed he shows his own reflections through his art works to the society in a strongly and directly style when I first impression take look on most of his artworks, I feel interesting on his graffiti style painting because I think his works are so humerous and funny. In many his artworks, I prefer the artworks are call “there is always hope” and “There’s no such thing as good publicity”. In these two artworks I can see more about Banksy’s reflections to the society.
After I have seriously looked over again the artwroks, the piece of his art that I like the most is the painting name “there is always hope”. In this painting, I can see he paints in the graffiti style to expresses some message hidden behind this piece of his painting. Although I do not really understand art, but I admire this artist because he can painting some ideological artworks to expresses his reflections on a unremarkable wall passed to the social soceity. Also, I can see this piece of his art can be easily seen in his reflections or he want to expresses some kind of message to the society by using his painting. In the painting “there is always hope”, he paints a red heart-shaped balloon in a humble, and dilapidated walls, there is also a cute little girl standing here and Stretch out her hand. Then he uses the white color to writes a sentence “there is always hope”on the corner side of that dilapidated black wall. In his whole piece artwork, I can see a red heart shaped balloon of love slip away from the little girl, but in her eyes she wants to catch back the red heart-shaped balloon. In the little girl’s eyes, I see her expectations and desire to catch back the balloon by her hand, she looks doesn’t want the balloon to leave her, but the balloon flying away from her hands and go to other places. It seems like one of those saddest moments in life, but the text on the wall has give that little girl and many other peoplpe a great encouragement in the society. In here, I can see Banksy wants to make people know about there is always hope in the life no matter experienced how much frustration and failure, hope is always waitting behind them. This reminds me a lot of people often say that God is always been fair to everyone, when he shut the door for you, he will open another window for you. From the sentence of wall by the artist, I can see he also very agree with this saying. Through this painting, I think he wants to let people know that although life has a lot of despair and frustration, they can still play a subjective initiative, the use of natural and modified natural in order to achieve their own purposes. Banksy uses this painting to people have a great encouragement in their life, and try to let them know hope is always in everywhere around them.
In addition, I also like another piece of Banksy's work is based on the theme of a rat with the following sentence on the painting “There’s no such thing as good publicity”. I find this painting is funny because Banksy is trying to give out a message to poeple, but then the message itself is telling the public that messages are no good in a sense of his painting. In this painting, I can see the rat uses white paint to erase the wall of the original publicity. I found this painting very interesting and humorous because I do not understand why Banksy like to use the rats to become the theme in most of his artworks. In real life, most people do not like rats and view them as ugly pests. The rats often like to act in a surreptitiously way, usually can find them in a dirty area, in sewers, gutters, and dumpsters. But in this painting, oppositely the rat act in high-profile way decided to put its thoughts over society and advertising on a dilapidated wall with the red color to paint the phrase “There’s no such thing as good publicity.” In this painting, I can see the rat looks not really like the publicity and not happy with society and the way that society views rats. Although the painting looks very simple, but from the painting I can think of Banksy's reflections to the society and he does not like or agree with society. I feel in this way because the phrase in his painting “There’s no such thing as good publicity” shows me his reflections against the soceity. In this phrase, I can see Banksy’s feeling on how people in the soceity to view his artworks. Based on the research I had done on Banksy, I know many people think he is mythological graffiti artist, still today no one knows who he is and no one can seem to catch him. This refers to the phrase in the painting“there’s no such thing as good publicity”, although he had done a lot artworks but he does not think he need to do any publicity about his artworks and he does not sell any of his artworks. We only can see his artworks in the building or street corner, in which his artwork is painted upon. Also, there are many pedestrians are staring on his painting in the wall, this shows that Banksy think his painting can attracts people’attention on which portray the message of the painting “There’s no such thing as good publicity.” In here, I can see Banksy’s view on any news media or ad in the life.

Norbet Bisky [Aquageddon]
The painting i choose to write about is Aquageddon by Norbert Bisky. Aquageddon send a powerful picture of hope. There is fourteen people in this painting. It shows one person being crucified which shows the symbol of religion but in the far corner there is someone hanged. What is bisky trying to say? that hope is sometimes hopeless. There is a gay couple in the left corner of the picture which is really ironic because Catholics do not approve of homosexual yet it shows in this picture right in the corner. The man being stabbed by the telephone pole is holding on, notice how the telephone pole is shape into a cross. Which again shows hope is something hopeless. There is a girl in the sky that has her arms and legs spread open. She seem that she is free falling or an angel searching for hope. Then below the free falling girl there is a man , but his face is hidden within a bush or a tree for me it looks like a bush with socks coming out. The man might be dead and didn't show how his face got torn off. Then in the middle of the page there are two woman standing there blowing the air looks like wind or a message in trying to get help in the hopeless situation they are in. The man in the sky looks like he got the girl signal. The odd thing about the man in the sky is that he is wearing a suit everyone the painting is half naked or in their bathing suits. this man is in his suit looking at the two girls blowing the message to him. Below him there is a ruined house and it looks like the house is taking a boy with him he looks like he is in a lot of pain , his leg is up in the air and his face seems in agony. There is an another boy hold on to his arms trying to get him out, or seems like it. Underneath the boy that is trying to help there is red water. That red water is probable the boy in pain that is his blood. The image of hope yet again is coming up. Even though it seems hopeless to help the boy that is trap and going down with the house , the boy is trying his best to get him out. Below the two boys there is wolf and a bloody head in the water. I think that bloody head is with the boy with the bushes and socks. That bloody head is his face torn off. I guess Bisky didn't want to draw the detail of his face being off but he drew parts of it on the water. The wolf on the right bottom corner doesn't make sence to me. Apparently it is howling but why there is no moon in this painting there is just dark blue sky but in the middle it is a bright blue sky. I do not understand how is the dog not drowning or dead. Everything around the dog is dying or trying to survive, the dog here is perfectly standing up howling. But the man next to the dog is the best man in this painting. I wanted to explain him last because i have a feel that he has a lot more to talk about. He is the only one with a lot of details, bigger image of any of the boys around here and different just like the suit man. The boy is looking at far distance hold his arm that is somehow injured. The boy seem that despite what is happening to him there is hope. And he's eye is searching for it. He's arm may be unusable but that doesn't stop him from looking for hope. Everything in the background is horrible. And his face is with no emotion just looking the in the distance. Thinking how is this going to get any better. Now or later? The colors of this painting is dark there is no one smiling or having a good time. This picture shows violence, blood, sex, pain, hope, and death. It is going all at once. But isn't that how life works? Everything going all at once? The way Norbert Bisky shows it was really interesting also the way he painted the image. I realized he uses a lot of white paint there is parts of this panting that is solid white. Almost all of his artwork there is white there is no painting that he color with only colors with no white. It makes his painting more lighting in a weird way. Since this painting is a depression picture. The blue stuff that is in the bottom of the picture I'm not sure if it's water or something else. A house being destroyed by the blue thing, I'm pretty sure that it is water. The dirty old mattress in the water is worn out seems like it came out of the house in the top left corner. Where the man hung himself. The house seems like it is stained with blood the roof. The roof is just covered with blood and the man that hung himself I'm pretty sure that he didn't cause that blood. I'm sure the man that is in the cross is the cause for the blood. Also I do not understand how that man on the cross isn't falling down. It does seem that he is nailed down but his feet is just dangling there. This picture setting seems like it's been taken during the summer time, since I see most people in their bathing suits. Something must of happen to cause this horrible scenery. The water fountain in the middle must had an expulsion that had this huge water killing people. This flood that is so massive that people are helping each other, being stabbed by a pole, got his face torn off, having sex, hung himself, calling out crys, looking at a distance.

The painting :
“moose”.
In the painting of the moose by the artist Alex Katz, it showed the reader the moose in front of the mountain and lake. The pose of the moose would make the reader wonder. The buns of moose were showed in front of the picture. The buns are one of the most important parts in the picture. It would make the reader confuse and would think how come this picture would exist. The artist didn’t make the buns of the moose clearly. It was hard to realize it is a moose in the first sight until see the head of the moose. The artist used the raw umber color on the top. And it made it darker and darker when is going down. I can’t picture brown, but I can picture the umber color. And the color was showed the artist was very softly and gently to draw that place. Through this color can’t see the shape at all. Just the few lines made very real. The other reason make the reader thought real because the tail is prominent. The color was the same as the buns. The color was increasing different. We still could see the lighter color in the medium of the dark. We can know the artist made the lighter color first, and then cover the dark color.
In the back of the moose, it draws by the ghost white and the plum color. It showed the age of moose was old. It is hard to picture these colors on the back of the moose. It liked the snow on the back. It also displayed the cold weather. And let the reader feel painfulness. In that weather, it would made reader to sympathize the moose. We could through these to think about the feeling of the artist at that time. It showed the artist also has some painful in his heart. The shapes on the back like the eagle stretch its plumage cover on the moose. It showed the moose want to has the plumage and fly away. The eye of the eagle was sharp. The tail of the eagle is the same place on the tail of the moose. The ghost white and the shapes of the color are obviously separate the eagle and the moose. The line of the feather is decreasing when is going down the picture. It showed very real because the size of the eagle is correspond the standard of the eagle. The expression of the eagle is also showed very real.
The one of most attract and catch the reader’s sight may be the eye of the moose. It almost set on the center of the picture. The little rectangle enclose by the white color, it display the spirit of the moose. The litter rectangle was surrounded by ivory black. At the edge of the eye, the artist made a little gray color lighter and lighter reflect the angle of the ray. It showed particularity detail. It could prove the artist was concentrated on that time. It also showed the propriety mix.
The hole of the nose is also worth while to pay attention on. Perhaps the most reader wouldn’t see the hole of the nose, but the artist made it bigger than used to. It used the brick color to show the clear menu. There are many black spot cover on the brick color. It showed the ray shine different, and the distant between moose and people. It also considered the limit of the human being eyesight. In the clear menu contain the paste. We could see the wise skill of the artist.
May the reader would think why the horns so big and how come the color is so oddball. Is it the most important thing as the thing in the head? When we were still focusing on the horns, we can see the horns like the tree. The tree is very important at this place. We couldn’t see any tree but the shadow in the lake. That could let us thought the moose couldn’t leave there. It belongs to there. We also could think the artist has some thing want to do, but he couldn’t accomplish it.
During looking at the moose, the yellow thing may catch our sight. Let us follow it down and think what it is. When we distract and focus on the yellow thing we could see that is the glass. It already is yellow. At that situation, it may tell us it is fall and is going to winter. It made us slop over. The winter always made people felt bad. It would remind the reader the pity thing or bad memory or so on. We could think the artist has some unhappy thing in his mind. He also wanted to show us that he has the bad situation in his live. There still have some sea green dark color and white color mix in the yellow grass. The shapes of the grass are point to the moose. It looks as the moose made them be yellow and wilted them. At here, the artist express his live is dark. It displayed he did something wrong.
At the back of the moose, there is the lake and mountains were drawn by steel blue and steel blue light. It is hard to believe the sky such dark. It doesn’t have any green color on the mountain. It doesn’t have anything on the mountain but stone. It means it doesn’t have any tree on the mountain. It showed it doesn’t have any energy on this place. It likes anything will be end soon. The color of the sky could tell us the time close to dark. That day is close to end. It doesn’t have delight thing. At this point, we could know the artist already be old man. He felt his live doesn’t have delight thing as young any more. He felt his live is grey. He also made us feel that he will be end.
Sol lewitt
I chose the artist his name is sol lewitt. He was famous artist and his painting cost is a lot. I like his painting because I like them. He was died in April 8, 2007. his painting because it's very simple and attrition. It’s very colorful and some of black and white. He was draw angle and cube, triangle, he was drawn and paint different kind of painting. I saw his painting he used only red, blue, yellow, green color. He paint picture small and big and bigger. If you saw carefully his painting it’s way going inside. He was use a lot of different color and bright color in this picture. He was use light blue and red, grey, pink, blue, green. The painting all colorful and I think in this painting is a stars and hole to going somewhere. It’s something symbol of something .the artist make this painting bigger and bigger how much he want. He was called this patting to ethnography its mean you can use something to another painting. You can put one to another painting, its lithography. I like most like his wall painting and the wall looks so good and colorful he was draw the box and cube and it's huge he draw different color and picture in the another wall. He was use orange, green and yellow color in the picture. Both pictures are nice but both are different. He was like to draw math shapes its contrast and details and attraction to the picture. He was 78 years old when he was dead. He was draw star painting in 1992. I don’t know when I saw this painting I like it. The painting colors attraction and feeling good. I look this painting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Untitled_--lithograph--_by_--Sol_LeWitt--,_1992.jpg. I think this picture important to him when I was research to the Wikipedia the picture in there. He was paint star bigger and bigger. He was use bright color and he like to paint colorful. Some similar picture he makes like triangle and cube but I like this painting because it’s different to another. Its look good and colorful, it’s neat and clean and all are equal. I think when he was do this painting he was very happy and he want to express something good life and a lot of happiness. This painting is very smooth surface and he does the contras. This painting is good background for the photos and is good for cover too. Star is in our life’s there are light and looks good. He was old when he was painting this painting when he was drawing this painting when he was 64 years old. He was expressing his life in this painting and that is why he was use bright color in his painting. He uses (red, orange, pink, grey, blue and light blue) color in this painting. He want use different color to each star and it’s so big.
The second painting beautifulan and colorful.in this painting all colored. It's looks like nudls an bending. The website is http://www.massmoca.org/lewitt/images/walldrawings/1152/image. I like this painting because it's looks like snake, colorful snake and same movement like snake body. he was painting in the wall and use color red and green, yellow, blueor light blue.it's look nice andvery clear. I don't know how he started to the painting. the painting was so huge. The painting shape is diffrent and I can immagin anything like snake and road.the wall is white and the border color is blue and its looks alot of nudle put in the white plate.it's not straight road he take long time to finish beacuse the painting is too big. this painting imagin me lot of things like snak and road and spring and dance floor. When I was search in the web and than I was salect this painting to the research paper. i was piick two painting for the research paper and I like both of them. His some wall painting is really nice and the house painting was good too. his painting and wall painting makes your house colorful and intresting shap. The painting shaps going aound and around. everytime he was change the color. Sometime blue and green and sometime orange and red. He was color his painting very nicely to look good and i notice something all painting he draw shape all the painting like cube, spear, retengle, triangle like all math shapes.when I saw his painting and shaps i remember math sums. In this painting he paint circle an cubes. he did the colorful painting because color joy of life and happyness. in life everywhere color is natural. he want to say no life without color. he take alot of time and he did nice paiting to make move and give the color wo like in the picture.the both painting are beatiful to own way. They both are colored and beauiful and nice shap to look better.they both painting was own style.thry are nice. one is plain andone is wall drawing.

Untitled 1969
Threshold, 1999
Both made by none other then Mr. Jerry Uelsmann. Though made 30 years apart from each other, the technique and beauty of the images made did not diminish with the given timeframe. Uelsmann’s unique technique is rather famous for the use of many negatives in order to produce a composite photograph and common use of allegorical surrealist imagery. Back in the days, his paintings were said to be magical because of the common belief that photographs are documentary evidence of an event. Though there were many artists to choose from, Jerry Uelsmann technique was what interested me into researching about him. His first picture which is untitled can hold many different perspectives for people. Like all his pictures, they all are black and white pictures that came from photographs that were taken. This picture’s centerpiece, which is in the center, is a floating adult tree with its roots showing on top of a small piece of land jutting out into the water. In the background are large pieces of flat land and beyond that are mountains. It is also very sunny like the spring. After a second look at it, the painting is nearly symmetrical except for yet another floating exposed tree floating high above the mountain to it’s the right of the photograph. Though the reason for this could be unknown, there could be something significant for it being there. Another confusing image placed by Mr. Uelsmann is a peapod which serves as a reflection the floating tree above the small peninsula. It is obvious to see that in most of all his paintings, the pictures that he obtains through photographs are vivid and clear. I think that he does this in order to best symbolize all of the objects within the picture. The tree can be used to symbolize life and growth. Though there are many different perspectives after viewing this image, I believe that the tree represents the planet Humanity as a whole. The age of the tree represents that life created in our world has been around for some time now and that we the people should be mature enough to feel that we might know a lot of things. The reflection is a peapod and the peas, in my opinion, represent us humans and possibly animals while the pod represents the object that keeps us all together which could be love or just the Earth in general. The plains which are all a far and long could represent the space outside of the Earth and within the plains could be planets and other stars and galaxies. Though far fetched the mountains are far from our tree which could represents the fact that they are beyond our reach and that we cannot possibly even begin to conceive the idea of getting over and beyond the mountain range. On top of the mountain is the other tree and that could be another life that we have no knowledge of. Of course this is only due to my very own speculations on the picture and this can be perceived in almost an infinite amount of ways.
The second black and white picture consists of two joining hands holding a nest with a broken egg. The two hands both face a rather old hallway leading to the outside through the use of an arched doorway. Outside are the white wings of a bird which are linked together without the bird to be seen. The hands most likely represent us humans living peacefully. The nest and egg could most likely represent the hands of us humans living peacefully being able to create peace and generosity. And because we were able to do so, the eggs within the nest is born and released. The hallway leading outside requires the use of doors. Doors are a mean to get from one place to another and this door could be used to lead us from the dank dark crumbling building toward the brightness of the outside. The passageway walls are all crumbling and seem wet and dark. Being inside would most likely be scary because the walls prevent anyone from reaching outside. This could show that living here seems unbearable at times but there is always a way out that can prevent us from living in the dark all our life. The outside and day light which comes from the outside must symbolize freedom or some sort of salvation, like heaven, from being inside a dark building. So by this it isn’t incredible to say that the building could be the life that we all live and that by taking care of something we are able to go outside. The white wings that mostly likely the artist placed into the image most likely came from the egg that the nurturing hands are holding. The wings seem to come from that of an angel. So by adding this is it possible to say that by taking care of the egg we are able to birth an angel that could lead us to heaven in the afterlife. The title of this picture is called threshold. A threshold is a place or point of entering or beginning which is mostly used to enter a house or building. The painter, Jerry Uelsmann, must have used this name in order to show that in order to enter heaven or reach salvation, the only way is that we must be able to work together and give birth to love and peace. I love the way Jerry Uelsmann is able to not only use his amazing technique to portray unrealistic images, including the use of symbolism and imagery is substantially sufficient. I also like how I can easily relate this with humanity and life seeing that it’s entertaining and satisfying to converse about. Though Mr. Jerry Uelsmann images can now be replicated using easier methods that involves photo shopping or digital cameras, during his time he was considered to have almost a “magical skill” with his analog tools

This picture also has no color to the two people in the picture so it is also in black and white. There are two quotation marks. One of them says, “I dig looking like this, got a gripe.” The second quote says, “Are you kidding? You make that pug ugly punk John Dillinger look like Clark Gable”. This quote was a little confusing because of the people mentioned in the quote. I didn’t know who John Dillinger is and I didn’t know who Clark Gable was. The second quote is answering the question in the first quote. I also think that the second quotation is answering the first quote in a sarcastic kind of way.
The picture I picked to describe are called a Working Beastand Yellow Ace
by Tony Fitzpatrick I’m going to start with working beast. When you first take a look at this painting all the first thing you see is a a bulls Face with a body building materials. On his right hand the bull has a demolishing ball while on his left hand he has a building with something that looks like blood coming of the middle of the building. Above the bulls head there are three pair of cards which. The cards are symbols that Fitzpatrick uses in many of his paintings. The painting has a written message which talks about the beast the keeps feeding on bricks and immigrants dreams… the background yellow on the painting. There are white flowers around the whole painting which add more color to this painting. The beat has an images of girls to the right of him, and to the right of him. The girl to the top right of the painting is is on top of a sign that says Illinois on it, and she is not wearing any cloth on like the other girls, the girl on the right of the beast has a really big head with a little body, That has a dressed with the colors red and white. To the left rib of the beast we see a picture of god. His body that is drawn in between of a upside down horse shoe. The head of God is replaced with another head of him that is looking on the opposite direction of the first image of that was drawn. His legs end on top of a building that is on the bottom of him. On the bottom of that building there is a clover leave with only three pedals on it. At the bottom left of the painting we see that the patterns of the playing cards show up. The heart, the spade, the club, and the diamond, these pattern shows up at the top left. On the bottom of that pattern is a sign saying cock tail on it and to the right of the pattern that I had just mentioned is a man that looks to be like a body builder. This is followed by a sign right at the center of the to that says colonial department store. The panting has some circles that are white that have numbers on it. Most of the numbers are in the right side of the painting. There are also scarred star constellations around the on the right, the bottom centered, and to the left of the bulls painting, .then there is another picture of God again to the top left corner which you have to look into it to find it. There is also a picture that is located on top of the right arm of the bull that is a face of a woman that looks like a boudist. There are also birds that come up, there are three different kind of birds, the bird in the left bottom is blue with flowers surrounding it, the seconds birds colors are red and blue, this bird is located at the right bottom of the, this bird is shown from the back to the front. The other bird is In the to right, this bird is white with light brown on the wings. The next art work I’m going to describe is called Yellow ace. This art work starts with a yellow ace in the middle with a head of a bull that has a crown. The hands are made out of tentacles that look like they came from an octopus. Were the name of the painting is we can see a couple dancing like if they were at a ball. On the left bottom of the painting we see two girls, one is wearing white and red with red stockings, and the other one is wearing white with a backless top. On top of the girl with the red and white cloth we see a par of sexy legs coming out of a picnic basket. Around this legs there are some yellow flowers that give t kind of a girls surrounding. But then on top of the flowers we see a bartender mixing a drink. This is all from the left bottom side. On the left top there is couple dancing, and there are a lot of yellow flowers around the couple that is dancing like there at a ball. As in the last picture the word cocktail. On the right top of the painting there is a Christmas ornament. This is ball which somehow is put in this picture. There is also a picture of a fish that is behind a building that is red, which looks like a school. There is a ginger bread man on top of the building. At the bottom right of the painting there is a girl that is wrapped around a strap with letters on it. She is also surrounded by the yellow flowers, and there’s a red guy with some suitcases that seems to be leaving to some place. Around the bottom border on the right we see a girl that is jumping around making bobbles, and jumping around colored balls. On the left bottom side there is a red heart and a black spade. Then next to the left there’s a stamp that displays cigars on them. On the top left there is a stamp that has a owl with the word Pennzoil written in the bottom of it, on the center of the top there is a woman dancing, the background is of music notes and she is on front of a gold ball. Next to it is the next is the clubs and diamonds of cards that have came up before. Next to it is a couple that is talking to each other, and they are seated on chairs around a table at a restaurant with someone serving them.
Cabeza
The art that I choose it’s called the Cabeza. Cabeza was created by an artist called Jean Michel Basquiat; he was a very popular artist. The reason why I choose Cabeza because it’s was Jean Michel Basquiat favorite painting. The thing that interests me about the painting is that the first time I look at it; I know that he used a lot of colors in it, especially in the background. Looking, at the background of the painting I see multiple colors; the colors are Sandy Brown, Ivory Black, Blue medium, cadmium lemon, Snow, and Cadmium red deep. The two colors that Jean Michel Basquiat used the most in the background are Sandy Brown and cadmium Lemon. Just by looking at the painting the first thought I had was that the character is sad, I know this that by the look on his face. By, looking at the picture I think that the person in the painting is standing up. In my mind I think the character is wearing a mask, how did I know that because those lines on his face, and also if you look closer on the top right Conner where those Ivory black lines. Looking down at the painting, I think that the character not feeling good or maybe his or her stomach hurt. The part that I called stomach is where those white lines are, I know this that the painting mouth is separate into two colors; one side is Sandy Brown, and the other side is white. I notice that the painting neck is more to the left, and the body cut in the right of the painting you can also see the colors that are background. His or her body is not complete because you can not see the arm on the right side of the painting. It seems like the person has different personalities through the two different colors on the opposite sides of his or her body. This person seems evil through the ivory black and blood shot red in his or her eyes. He or she has no ears. The persons nose is not straight it is to the right .The person has a double eyebrow on the left side of their face. The person body seems to be deformed. The person has no heart because you can see through his or she chest. The person has no hands therefore mean he or she has no fingers. This person probably likes to smoke because he or she has a hole in his or her neck so the person may be sick. The right eye is bigger than the left eye which may give this person a hard time seeing. The blue medium pouring from the persons left eye shows that the person is sad or hurt or hungry since his or her stomach is in circles which may be gas due to his hunger. He or she has broken ribs on the right side of their body which is portrayed as a snow white line with other lines going through it horizontally. This person doesn’t know how to brush the left side of his mouth due to the anger his has on the left side of his or her body. He or she probably likes the right side better even if it is emptier than the left side. On the left side of his or hers body the person is missing their cheek. On the right side of the body the person is missing the right part of his upper skull which may mean the person was in a coo house and got that side of his head amputated because they felt the person was going to be a danger to the community. This person has mixed feelings which make it really hard to actually feel what the artist is trying to express. I think the person is sad or depressed or is trying to show that beauty is not everything. The colors the artist portrays shows that he or she wants to be happy due to the bright color in the background but the person seems to be dark which either shows a shadow of what the person really is or another side of the person which may connect to his or her different personalities. This painting is very hard to describe due to all the twists on the mixed emotions of the painting. The person’s body is not in equal halves maybe this shows the person is selfish because the white line from his school runs down the left side of his body which is more complete than the right. The person doesn’t have a lot of hair on the left side of the body but has more on the right side. This person is missing a little bit on his or she’s chin which may show that he or she wants to reveal the real them but can’t due the darkness that he or she has within them self. This person seem like they wearing a headphone, the way that I know this that is the blue lines on his or her sides make me thing of that. The red lines mean bloods that are on his or her face. Its look like the person is in the sun light, the reason why is because the lemon yellow and also the brown. The person look likes he or she crying, the person body is not straight. Half of his or her body is on the left side most of it is his or her neck. His or her teeth are in bad condition because of smoke. His or her teeth are in different colors. The person also looks like a skeleton, with no right arm. The person has no ear on the left side of his body. Looking at the painting when the person is crying the water from his or her eyes went through the body. The person looks that he or her is sad, because of his or her body condition. That my description of my artist work.
Go Go Go
The piece that I chose from Jorge de la Vega is called Go Go Go
. This picture was made in Argentina in 1967. In this picture I see a woman that is smiling, she have like a 3D figure that have the same face of the woman laughing, the way the is drawing it looks like wings but at the same time it shows that the faces are different color and it reflects an beginning a middle and the end because in the end of the faces her face is have and the other one is just complete gone so also can reflect that in life there is going to be happiness but ill will have there own moments and Jorge de la Vega is reflecting that she is happy in a moment but there’s still something missing. In the picture there are buildings. There is two different building, one is colored gray and the other one is like a dark purple, it can look like a neighbor hood. In the piece shows that this woman looks Hispanic and there is Algeria that means happiness, and she has three arms and two legs. Her hands are like around her body, one of the hands is holding her foot and she have different color of shoes. One of the shoes is black and the other one is white. Her skin color is like tan and her legs is light blue she also has like a little type of rainbow with only three colors red, yellow and orange. my observation is that Jorge de la Vega did that to (darle vida al arte), that is to give life to art because with out colors it won't have life. my other observation of this picture is that Jorge de la Vega express his ways in this picture that there is both ways of life and both sides are different, the way he reflect that is the colors are different like the shoes are different one is black and the other one is white, the hands are different, one of the leg is down and the other one is facing up, one of the hands is straight and the other ones are curvy, fatter, skinnier. This figure is now in Latin American Collection of the Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art.
Mucho Gusto
My other piece that I chose it called Mucho gusto. Mucho gusto means nice to meet you. In Spanish culture Mucho gusto is when a person first meet another person for the first time and the person suppose to say hola mucho gusto, and be nice and friendly. In this picture it relates the name to the painting because it shows the hi, nice to meet u. In this picture I see two people or it can be one person and the other face can be a reflection a mirror of the same person but both faces are looking to each other, they both have eye contact. In this picture I see that both person have drawings of animals in there fort head one looks like it have horses running down his fort head the other face haves dogs and down there neck they have animals to one have a duck and the other one haves two birds and the one in the birds is like in a little rectangular shape. One of the reflection when is smiling is like one have teeth and the other one is hard to see the teeth it can show to that it can be happiness and the other one is like the expression is faked, the smiled is not like the first figure but this picture related to the name of it make it seems the first figure that is really smiling happy of meeting each other but is kind of complicated because is hard to connect the animals with the name of the picture but it can be related of Hispanic culture. The two faces they are almost identical but maybe the symbols means that they are different person or have different personality. In one of the figure really can't tell the nose, in the other one can't tell the animals going down. The figures show emotion. The noses look like they are kind of broken. It haves no color is like gray and in the background is black is like ancient picture it looks like from the old times how people draw in the faces. In The eyes it haves lines under it with designs, but in one of the faces the one that shows fake emotion one eye doesn’t have the line drawing really can’t tell that much. In my observation it shows to that Jorge de la Vega reflects that it can be similar figures have a lot of things is common but it have different signification. My observation it can be that one of the faces have more defectos then the other one. Defectos are when a person is not always perfect that we are human and we make mistakes but there are more people that have more defectos then others. So this relates in the painting how one of the faces had more defectos then the other one because one of the faces has a broken nose, can’t really tell the teeth, one eye is missing the designed, can’t really tell the animals going down the face it have more animals etc. which the other have perfect teeth, perfect eyes with the designs, can see the animal.
http://www.wcma.org/press/08/BIG_IMAGES/08_Mehretu/Stadia_II_med.jpg
I choose Julie Mehretu art, because her are is get me more thinking in her art I was choose her art the name is stadia 2. I was feeling more idea in this photo, first time I was see this photo is look like the countryside and the people is farm in there but I go far look this photo is different it look like the tornado, and the tornado it was whirling the something to out the world, and something come in the world too, and I was think this look like the war, in this thing it was look like the many people is fighting and the people was fighting and I was thinking this photo look like in the war the bomb is the same bombing, and many people dies, but I saw in the photo have bit by bit color, this color get me thinking the the look like the football field have an ebb and flow from the suburbs and pockets of revitalization, this look like the people around the football field, and the people was watch the football game and this the bit by bit color look they win the football game, and I was saw this photo on the top look like the many different country flag and I think this flag look like olympia in the photo and is same to look like the people watch the olympia began, below have some line this line is look like the in people race running to the target, in the middle I saw a boat, this look like the boat burnt the same, this is very good art is get the people thinking more thing to show her art.
elephant in the room
The artist that I have chosen goes by the name of Bansky. Bansky interest me personally a lot due his creative mind in art. His humor brings the best and is a reason as why he is a very popular artist. Bansky being a British artist in the work he does makes him a far more unique artist. One photograph that I have chosen that has really caught my attention is the photograph of the elephant in the room. This photograph is very hard to go by and not pause at it and wonder to yourself. The first thing that pops into anybody’s head is why is there an elephant in this room? This is something everyone who sees this photo asks themselves. In this photo yes there is a very large elephant in this but also there is a woman reading a magazine sitting on a couch. Another thing that is also there is another couch and only shows half a lamp. Last things that are in the photo are painting in the back walls that are hung on the wall. The first thing in this photo that catches my attention is the big red elephant in the room. The elephant takes up manly half of the photo and is basically impossible to miss when you’re looking at this photo. The elephant is the camouflage color of the back wallpaper in the wall. Which is a very hot red painted all thru out the body and it has a gold marks matching the wallpaper. The color of the elephant hot red represents blood and how the elephant is becoming an endangered species. The woman sitting on the coach is paying no mind to the huge elephant in front of her. She is playing mind as if this huge mammal is actually camouflaging and she thinks it is the wall. I believe that is outrageous how she cannot see it and she is playing no mind to it. The woman is reading a magazine of such. Wearing plaid pants and a grey tank top. The woman in the photo looks like she is white manly from somewhere in Europe. She has blackish brown has very short with her hair curled up to her shoulders. Both of her legs are crossed in a way of relaxation with her sneakers. The way the woman is sitting and her body language is looks like she is a patient of source waiting at her doctors or dentist reading a magazine and sitting very relaxed patiently. When you really think about it it’s really impossible that someone would have a large red camouflage elephant in their living room and if so why would you be sitting in your own living room reading a magazine. More than 85 of families in the United States watch TV while they are in their living room. Which makes this photo more realsiic of it being doctors office of such? The woman with her grey and white colors wearing shows a calm approach, both colors are usually calm and show a lack of emotion except grey. The gray might represent the person having a gloomy of day as such. There are also two coaches in the photo s well. One of them is well seen and the other is on the bottom of the photo making u see only the edge of the top but making it very blurry. The coach that we are able to see has a base color of badge such. Around the base color it as a design of flowers going through a circle. The flowers are two different colors. One is a blue green flower and the other is a sunshine range. Both colors are very much tropical of such. The colors match the whole environment in a very bright look showing happiness. The wallpaper is the most dominant color in the whole photo. The color of the wallpaper is a rose red with a design of goldish yellow strip of a crown of such. The rose red is the total opposite of every color in the photo. Red usually represents anger and fear of such and with the wall paper being as such of a color the environment could be a tense place of it. Instead of all the calm tropical colors used throughout the photo the rose red balances very well and still shows that normal casual environment. On top of the wallpaper I noticed that there is a red brick wall on top of it showing the redness in that as well. Lastly in this photo the paintings on the wall in the back of the photo. These paintings are the parts that show the humor in Bansky. The first top painting hung with a black back round is a man that looks like George Washington giving us the finger. The man looks very old from the 1800s with a white wig and old suite. Right below that painting this is a woman who might resemble the picture of Mona Lisa wearing a wrestler’s mask of nacho lubre and her top is ripped up showing us her bra. In the right of both of those paintings is a picture of a normal landscape but there is an ufo going thru it shooting a beam of a laser and there is 1 ufo out of the painting but it is shooting a laser into the painting of a bright green color. All paintings show the humor of Bansky in every way of creativity to sarcasm.
Norbert Bisky
By clicking this hyperlink: http://www.norbert-bisky.com/works/painting/2008/norbert_bisky-Spreu.jpg it will automatically lead you into one of Norbert Biskys great artwork and masterpiece. Norbert Bisky a German painter born 1970 in Leipzig, lives and works in Berlin. In this painting Norbert Bisky is able to show true human feelings after an emotional day that he probably had. In the painting: http://www.norbert-bisky.com/works/painting/2008/norbert_bisky-Spreu.jpg I see a boy about the age 24 he seems to be helpless and beat up. His skin color is tan, and his hair color seems to be blond or red. His lip is bleeding and the boy seems to be a strong warrior he is wearing a black vest with red spots probably symbolizing blood. Norbert Bisky does a great job in his paintings of adding color and texture into his artwork. The background of the painting is pitch black probably symbolizing nightmare and tough times. There seems to be smoke flying around the painting which makes the painting seem as there is a battle that happened during that time and probably the uniform vest that the man is wearing shows that he is probably involved in an military. His lip is bleeding and the color of his eyes seems to show hope in him that things will probably be fine after this moment. The man in the drawing is strong his chest is build and the smoke in the flying around block the color of his hair. Norbert Bisky is characterizing the man as a strong warrior who is able to overcome struggle and succeed in life. His hair color seems to be red even though you cant actually tell for sure. In his chest there is black painting marks which it seems as the painter is doing that by himself to make the painting seem messier. The black shirt that he’s wearing is also occupied with red and orange paintings. Norbert Biskys paintings show great artistic work and a colorful texture. A thing that I was trying to figure out the reason why the man in he picture had a bloody lip. It seems that he is suffering from something. He looks like he is disappearing into a black cloud, but I still don’t know what the bloody lip is supposed to mean. I also noticed that this picture is very colorful. The man on the picture is gold. The colors in the background are black and there are little spots of red in the background. It seems as though he is disappearing in the universe because the solver thing in the right top corner looks like the moon.
Another of Norbert Biskys famous paintings is located on the following website: http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/pic/SPOR/80404~2006-FIFA-World-Cup-Perfect-Match-Posters.jpg in this painting I see a soccer team, all the players in the team are wearing the same jerseys which is white. It seems as all the players are glued into each other which it probably can mean that Norbert Bisky is trying to show that one player can’t make a team it takes a whole bunch. This painting comes right after Fifa World Cup 2006. The way the painter is able to make us see his thoughts is by painting the one player in the front with a face and the rest of his teammates behind him. The jerseys that they are wearing are plain white v-necks with red and blue stripes. Even though you can’t see the others faces behind the first person you can tell their in the same team and have the same goals because they’re all wearing one thing to identify themselves and that’s their jersey. In the background there is a blue sky with clouds and the green grass makes the whole painting blend in. I also noticed in the painting even know they all are wearing the same jersey there is little important details in the jersey that makes the jerseys not identical. For example one of the players has two red stripes on his jersey and the one in the front only has one. And also the sneakers as well some have bright colors and the ones in the back have a more darkish color. The reason why Norbert Bisky chose to do a painting on Fifa World Cup 2006 is because there were many people world wide following this famous sport which only happens once in four years. I believe Norbert Biskys love of soccer made him paint a drawing of a soccer team representing Fifa World Cup 2006. The painting is bright and colorful because of the colors he uses which is white, green, light blue, red and yellow. I noticed that in the paintings the further away something is the harder you’re able to see what’s in the painting. Artists usually use less color on things further away to make the viewer not able to see what’s in the painting. Norbet Bisky is special in utilizing and adding specific details into his artwork and that’s what makes him such a unique painter. My favorite party of his artwork is the color that he uses because it makes the painting stand out. Becoming a famous artist like Norbert Bisky requires many skills and ideas in your paintings, Norbert Bisky does a great job of utilizing and being a specialist in this skills. This picture was interesting because it had a lot of color. It also had to do with sports which I am very interested in. The painting was German because it said on the bottom of the picture that it was from Germany. Germany also is very good at soccer. I think that the artist is in love with the game of soccer and he is expressing his feelings for the love of the game. I think that in a way, the artist is bragging about his country of Germany. I think that his country has recently won an award for their soccer team and the artist of this painting feels a need to express to the person who is viewing this picture his feelings of pride for his soccer team.
Sol Lewitt
I chose the artist his name is sol lewitt. He was famous artist and his painting cost is a lot. I like his painting because I like them. He was died in April 8, 2007. His painting is very simple and attrition. He wants use different color to each star and it’s so big.
The second painting beautiful an and colorful. In this painting all colored. Its looks like noodles a bending. The website is http://www.massmoca.org/lewitt/images/walldrawings/1152/image. I like this painting because its looks like snake, colorful snake and same movement like snake body. He was painting in the wall and use color red and green, yellow, blueor light blue. it’s look nice and very clear. I don't know how he started to the painting. the painting was so huge. The painting shape is different and I can imagine anything like snake and road. The wall is white and the border color is blue and its looks a lot of noodle put in the white plate. It’s not straight road he take long time to finish because the painting is too big. This painting imagine me lot of things like snake and road and spring and dance floor. When I was search in the web and than I was select this painting to the research paper. i was pick two painting for the research paper and I like both of them. His some wall painting is really nice and the house painting was good too. His painting and wall painting makes your house colorful and interesting shap. The painting shapes going around and around. Every time he was change the color. Sometime blue and green and sometime orange and red. He was color his painting very nicely to look good and I notice something all painting he draw shape all the painting like cube, spear, rectangle, triangle like all math shapes. When I saw his painting and shapes I remember math sums. In this painting he paints circle and cubes. He did the colorful painting because color joy of life and happiness. In life everywhere color is natural. The color are important ours life’s. He wants to say no life without color. He takes a lot of time and he did nice painting to make move and give the color like in the picture. The both painting are beautiful to own way. They both are colored and beautiful and nice shape to look better. They both painting was own style. They are nice and one is plain anyone is wall drawing.
