I believe that the poem Red Shift is an interesting poem with a lot of imagery and observations going on. The person telling the story I believe is a woman instead of a man because there is much detail in the poem that tells this. The speaker sounds like they have lost someone and cannot live on without him. They describe how they have everybody in there life except of the person they are missing. In scientific term the red shift is an increase in wavelength. A red shift can occur when a light source moves away from an observer. Such as the speaker’s lover moved away from them. I also think that it was near the American Dream era when everybody wanted the perfect life but some got the complete opposite.
